It came w/a cert but it is very pretty. I know it isn''t hearts and arrows. It is sparkly. I will post pics tonight.

How much info is provided in the cert? For a pendant, it''s all right to be more loose in colour and clarity but you can''t be soft on the cut. A well cut pendant will stand out at the neckline. If it has enough info, maybe just having an Iscope on hand or plugging the numbers into the HCA calculator would suffice.

I know what your are saying Chrono. I just listed mine as an option; I took a pic and it looks big. I have a pic next to my WF 1.5 carat ring. She does not have to go w/Costco. I love it. DeeJay loves her Zales pendant and wears it. Just thought I would give her info on mine since she asked about it.

I''m sorry if what I posted sounded offensive. I just didn''t know how to say it tactfully without stepping on others'' toes.

I know you both (and I) are really excited about this project. I''m sure your pendant and DJ''s are lovely.

Thanks a lot Skippy, Chrono and everyone who has given me so much good info. Every vendor has pros and cons. Costco: Can see it with my own eyes before buying it, know the pendant doesn't flip, easy returns. Cons: Less detailed cert and no ability to choose diamond, and a little over my budget. WF: Pros: great company to work with, ideal cut diamond with cert, upgrade policy. Cons: limited information available on the actual bezel setting itself, and I'm not sure I like the setting based on the photo on the web. And, I hate returning things thru the mail in case I needed to, and I'd still go a little over budget based on their current inventory. Blue nile: Pros: From what I can see of the setting from the web and from Piccoloscimmia's pics, I really love the setting, also they have a stone that I think I would be happy with that is actually below budget. Cons: Pricing is similar to WF but without the upgrade policy, personalized service and extra info that WF provides.
This is pretty intuitive, but just thought I'd rehash.

Anyway, I will continue checking out my options and will let you all know what I decide.

Oooh, pretty Miss Skippy!

gail, have you checked out GOG and JA?

SKIPPY - WOW!!!!! That pendent is STUNNING! I love how the bezel has some real style to it and I love the snake chain that it''s on. Wow, I can''t wait to go see one in person tomorrow! Thank you SO much for taking the time to post these pics. Also, your WF e-ring is stunning.

Ellen, I checked GOG, nothing is available through their web search but I could call. Did not check JA yet. Thanks for the suggestions.

I''m going back and forth in my head whether this will be "THE PENDANT" (in which I need to wait til we get through some of these new house expenditures before shelling out the $1K or more that I need for THE PENDANT) or just "a nice piece of jewelry, not a huge deal" to mark my recent graduation. To me, this would mean about $400-500 and I could get it now.

The seemingly underpriced stone from BN sold today. Oh well, wasn''t meant to be, there are others!

PS Skippy, hard to believe that''s .33. It looks HUGE! I think it''s b/c it is in a subtantial setting. Maybe I should rethink this dainty bezel thing I''ve got in my head...

Yes it does...

My bezel is a little thinner than Skippy''s. (Sorry for the weird lighting of the downstairs bathroom!)

Here are the holes. I put the chain through the bigger holes but there are smaller holes positioned closer together (more like 11 and 1) too.

Here''s a pic of showing the chain in the bigger holes, but you can see the smaller ones too.

And here''s a neck shot with the 16" snake chain. Please excuse the weird way my sweater is tucked in; I was trying to get it out of the way!

Dee Jay, I love your pendant! I have always been partial to the snake chain. It is a perfect size! I really like that style! I think I must have a bigger neck than average. Like a true PSer, I was just doing some experimenting by putting my earring through my Venetian silver chain (so it would stay) and experimenting with different lengths, and to see what I think of the size. 16 inch is really a choker on me. 18 is how I wear all my favorite everyday stuff. I think either 17 or 18 will be perfect. I swear 18 on me hangs where 16 hangs on you, Dee Jay!

Did you say your pendant is .5 carat? It looks huge! I think your photos and Skippy's could convince anyone of the bezel's enhancing effects! (Not saying that either of your stones is small, not by any means, but they just look a lot bigger with the bezel!!)

Also, nice job capturing the arrows! Thanks again for taking the time to post your pics.

Preliminarily, what do you guys think of this diamond?

http://www.bluenile.com/diamonds_details.asp?__fun_frm=i&pid=LD01066490&filter_id=5

I say preliminarily b/c the GIA cert isn''t posted. They may have just gotten it in - hopefully will post soon.

Remember, I want max size for min budget! :) With the setting, this would put me at $530, totally doable. Now would be a GREAT time for them to send out one of those coupons, but it never works that way!

Gail, thanks for the kind words, I wear this pendant more than any other piece of jewelry! I remember my husband rolling his eyes when I got it at the Zales outlet thinking I would never wear it, but really it goes with everything.

As for the diamond... I really don't know. The depth and table look good, but without the other numbers I couldn't beging to venture a guess. Could you call them up and ask them to e-mail it to you so you don't have to wait for it to be posted? Or even just get the cert # and then look it up on the GIA site.

yeah, for beautiful pendants. I love yours DeeJay!!! You girls are such fun lady''s!!!

Not to be a downer, I won''t be around for a little while in case you have questions Gail. I have a family emergency. Best of luck on your pendant. I am excited to see what you decide!!!
