ETA: I realise my ring as got what is a satin/matte finish - can you answer the questions below with regard to now getting a shiny/high polish finish please? thanks!

guys, my ring is made in a unplated wg. my jeweler had never made an unplated ring before, so when they made it, I didn't specify that I wanted it polished - or I may have mixed it up with it being dipped and therefore said no...

can I get it polished? I have a few questions:

1. is it already polished? it's a matt sort of texture at the moment, is tat what it's supposed to be like?

2. where can it be polished? the back half of the shank (it's diamonds till half shank), the inside of the ring? do you also have the prongs polished?

3. can I get my original jeweler to do it, and should I expect to pay for it? would you consider this part of ring maintenance?

4. will it damage the rest of my ring i.e. diamonds and etc?

thanks all! :wavey:

I believe the whole thing can be polished while you wait. I have had multiple jewelery stores volunteer to do it for free, even Jareds, when I am window shopping. (Yes, I went to Jared to look at bands. Please don't hate me.)

Do you have a picture?

ETA: I can't tell in this picture what kind of finish you have on the metal. Keep in mind that the metal on the shank will take a beating over the years since it's where your hand grasps things, so it will likely only keep it's high polish for a very short period of time after it's done.
