Just full of questions tonight I am.

Ok this is probably a dumb one. Can platinum come in different shades or colors? Can they "blue" it like other metals - or can it show more gold?

Fiance would like a ring that is two toned. One for ring - and other for inlay - that is different ''color'' or tone. He want''s platinum - however - obviously we have only seen rings with Plat and Gold inlay (or vice versa).

I said I''d never seen platinum in another shade -- but I''ve been known to be wrong occasionally

Anyway - has anyone ever seen this?

I don't think so. If the setting has a color tone to it, it must not be a very pure platinum. I would imagine the color would reflect the other metal that is mixed in. But then most people want pure platinum(highest purity .95) and that is what is usually sold.

I don't think so...The only thing I've heard is that platinum gets a distinct patina after a while of wear...?

The two-toned rings I've seen have all been a combo of plat and yellow gold. My DH's ring is like that.

I like the color platinum 950 naturally is, thank you!
