Been searching for a diamond forever!! and found this.. prefer to go with blue nile because I have another diamond I bought from them 6 years ago I want to upgrade.

There is no pictures yet... the only thing that scares me in the report is the cavities and "additional cloud not shown".. maybe the strong blue as well.

But it seems like for the size color and price, I'm not gonna find better anywhere else.

Please help me check it out!!! much appreciated!

you need a picture before committing to this stone (IMHO). Especially because the crown angle is pretty steep, and the it has clouds + strong blue fluor.

Agree with @lovedogs...someone this week is returning a stone that has Strong Fluorescence and is over blue. Really need pics and
an aset image. In all honesty, I'd just move on from this stone. Too many "ifs".

I understand the blue and clouds, I'm trying to understand why is crown angle steep bad? and what should I aim for?

Here is a chart of potential diamond proportions. The "safest" proportions are shown in the green column, and the 2 columns on either side are also very safe.

Your stone has a very steep crown (shown in the right-most column), which won't play nicely with the other proportions shown on the GIA report. I wouldn't consider this one.

The second one is AWFUL. Crown angle and height are too low. Need a picture or video of the first one.

Unfortinately that one is very poorly cut. Look at how it's just "mushy" in the middle with zero visible hearts and arrows. If you share your preferences and budget we can help!

Hello, I am trying to find something below 16k... I can stretch my budget..

I guess I was either looking for J , VS2, or something higher color F, G, but SI1. I think my only criteria is eye clean... I prefer to go with Blue Nile because i get a 6-7k upgrade credit from my previous ring, If there's an exceptional deal some where else i'm not that oppose to moving away from blue nile.

thanks for the response... I just see "excellent cut" on GIA and thought I Was ok..

Nope. “Excellent” is often not. You’ve come to the right place, though. Tell us your budget and what you’re looking for, and experts can help find you some options.

The stones that are cut well, around 2cts, F-G color, SI1 and above, start around $20,000. Is that the range you’re looking in? If not, you could think about going down in color.

What ct size do you want?

I agree. It wont be possible to find a 1.9-2.1ct that's well cut, G+ , eye clean, and 16k or less

I'm guessing this ring has the right cut? But is J color too yellow? thinking about putting it on a Halo Platinum Setting

Depends on how color sensitive you are. Larger stones will show more body color and you will see it from the side. One that is well cut can still look white (not ice white but white) face up from the top. Be careful with color of the halo stone if you go with J center because it may be less flattering against a halo of E/Fs.

If color is a concern for you, maybe compromise a little on size. The halo will help give a larger look overall.

What if I go to H and raise my budget a bit?

I think you'll need to either Lower the budget, size requirement, or color

What if i go to 18k. same size. color drop to H+?

What if i go to 18k. same size. color drop to H+?

Here are some H color options with excellent HCA scores within that budget if you compromise a bit on size. Not BN but if you go with Whiteflash, the upgrade policy is excellent in case you want bigger or higher color in the future.

Check the diameter measurements to compare face up size.

Anything in the si1 range

Nothing else H, around 2 ct that looks well cut and likely to be eye clean in SI1 clarity on BN.

That H VS2 is the most promising one that I see on BN too. Note this has strong fluor and inclusion comments section mentions additional clouds not shown. This combo can potentially mean haziness when exposed to UV. You'll need to see it under various lighting conditions to be sure, this is hard to tell online. Though a H with strong fluor is less likely to be hazy than say a D/E. If no haziness, you might get a whiter looking H because the strong blue can help offset any yellow tint.

No, the SI ones on Blue Nile that are 2ct are not eye clean. You need to lower size or raise budget.
