Hi long time lurker here!

I've been reading up on DSS a little bit and was wondering if you can guess the carat size of my ering! I no longer can tell as my eyes have become so used to seeing this.

Here are some photos - I tried to include some real life and not so zoomed in pics. Thanks for any and all guesses!
And oh, I almost forgot to mention, my finger size 4.5 with large knuckles.
P.S. Bonus picture of my pup included :wavey:

First, your ering is beautiful!!! I really like the setting it is delicate but seems like it is sturdy at the same time (can I ask who made this?)
Second, I am SOOO envious of your long slender fingers

Anywhoo, I will guess that it is somewhere between 1.75-2cts. It really looks so perfect on your finger!!!

Hoping DSS never sets in for you! it really is a cruel disease!!

Mmm, the tea and scones are making me hungry! I'll guess that your ring is around 1.6ct. It's really pretty on your hand! Do you wear any bands with it?

It looks huge and gorgeous! I'd guess 1.75ct?

Looks like it could be 2.00 -2.25? Its lovely!

I'm guessing between 1.5-1.8

Im guessing in the 1.75ish range. And it's DIVINE.

I'm guessing 1.75 to 2 carats. It's a gorgeous ring and looks beautiful on your hand!

It looks GINORMOUS and at least 2cts. It is stunning!! But I am embarrassed to say that I'm totally distracted by the insane yumminess on that tray of biscuits and cream and jelly OH MY. I might be hungry. :nono:

I think it's over two carats--maybe 2.15?

I think it's around 1.8ct.

1.3-1.5

1.67!!!!

This picture made me laugh.

All I can imagine is 'Jaws' theme music playing as you slowly circle the tea tray, then suddenly pounce on the delicious unsuspecting scone and quickly gobble it up. All whilst wearing your gorgeous 1.6ct e-ring.

2.00? your ring is so beautiful. PS: I like your dog, so so cute. :D

I, too, guessed 1.67. Interested to see what it really is.

Just under 2 ct?

1.7-1.8

beautiful!!!

1.8 to 2.0 cts. VERY PRETTY!!! It suits you very well. Congrats! :appl:

Well? *tapping foot impatiently*

Your ring is just stunning and I'm going to guess right around 1.50ct.

Oh no! Maybe it isn't DSS but actual or my hands are humongous.
It is 2.04 ct. GIA measurements say 8.13 - 8.14 x 5.02 mm.
When I see 2 ct hand shot pictures on Pricescope or elsewhere they appear very big, but I'm the opposite.
How is that a 2 ct can look so shockingly small on my hands (4.5 fingers)? My setting is sort of low I guess does that make it look smaller?

Thank you for all your honest responses!

P.S. Goldfish8 - the settingn is 18k white gold with pave's and it's from my local jeweler's own creation (he said it was made in U.S.A.).

I also need to pick out a wedding band to go with this as my old band is channel set and doesn't really look right with this setting.
Any suggestions?

And oh, in real life, my coworkers think it's right around 1.5 ct too! :(sad
Maybe I should change the setting.

yay to all of you who guessed 1.9 to 2.0 ct range!

You could halo it to make it look larger. It looks like 2 carats to me though! And it's lovely.

Well I am one of the ones who think it looks like a 2 to 2-1/4 carat stone. Your size 4 1/2 finger is definitely not humongous, it is small. Your ring is beautiful and your diamond looks large on you in my opinion. I know for a fact that this forum can cause DSS lol I found this forum a couple of weeks after I got my new 2.6ct diamond upgrade this year, (after 27 years of marriage) and I immediately started to imagine my diamond shrinking right before my eyes LOL - I'm sure you know that a lot of women would kill for a 2 carat stone!

When you force people to guess based on random pics instead of just saying hey here's my ring, here are the specs, they're going to guess randomly and you're going to get guesses that fall into ranges you don't like the sound of. Don't take it personally. It looks fantastic on your hand and quite huge.
