Can you please help me find a 2.5 ct round?

After some deliberation I think I have decided that 2.5 ct will be worth paying extra to be happy with the size. I am looking for a GIA XXX or AGS0 stone, I, SI2 eye clean, and trying to stay around $20,000.

I could greatly use your expert eyes to look around for a good option for me. I am not seeing much under 20K unless it has major inclusions, very strong fluorescence, or something else wrong with it. Not to mention 2.5 ct round inventory is limited.

TIA!!!!!!!! :wavey:

Here are some:

http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/I-SI2-Excellent-Cut-Round-Diamond-1544930.asp (faint flo, but it'll help with the color)
http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/J-VS2-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1541924.asp (true H&A, J, but looks beautiful!).

http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-2837350.htm (under budget but I'd ask to see a picture, it is AGS)

as usual, see one you like PUT IT ON HOLD! Hope this helps, otherwise you'll have to give somewhere. Smaller stone with better color and clarity, or less clarity and color for bigger stone...Good luck!!

Thank you!!!!!
JA is being difficult about their idealscope requests. They only allow 3 images, one time, that's it. And it takes forever. They said 3 business days, it's going on day 4. I have since decided to up my budget and go bigger. Called them, and they had me switch out one of the diamonds and started the 3 day wait all over again. What a pain...

All that is to say, I don't think I can request any more from JA.

Would you be interested in something a little smaller?

This one is listed on eBay under 20k. Give Yekutiel at IDJ a call. He can probably call in the stone for you and give you a better price. I once found an AGS triple 0 D/SI2 on eBay and he called in that stone for me.

A little smaller is probably not worth the difference in price. I am thinking of going at least 2.4, but if I can't find one for a good price I'll just go with a 2 ct since they seem to be easier to come by.

Thank you for the link though, looks like a beautiful stone possibility!

I have worked with JA several times and they are usually very helpful and responsive, perhaps it is the holidays which is why they are a little slow?

I spoke to one of their reps before, and the 3 diamonds rule can be relaxed a little, although I do notice it depends on the rep (some are more helpful than others). I think they are just cautious of others who use their services and then purchase their diamond through a dropshipper for a lower price. You can always try to contact Jim Schultz directly if need be.

This diamond scores a little over 2 on HCA, but is worth considering since those twinning wisps could be invisible to unaided eyes. It's under your budget and a great size. The stone is probably located in NYC.

Thank you!!!
How important is it to look at idealscope images before purchasing? Since Bluenile is a dropshipper I am a little hesitant to go just by the GIA certificate.

I posted one from whiteflash too that was a 2.63 J SI1 AGS....AND it was under budget!

http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-2837350.htm

It has the AGS image which shows perfect arrows....However, I do think, if you want something with better color and clarity you should stick with around a 2ct. That one you had in a different thread that was on hold was a stunning stone!

I believe it is important to see at least the actual picture of the diamond. Can you call Yekutiel and tell him that you'd like him to call in the stone I recommended and some others for you? He can email you idealscope and ASET images.

Thank you! I looked at that one, and the only thing that bothers me is the J color. I am just thinking I'll be happier spending a little bit more for a 2.5ct stone so I won't have to upgrade it... probably ever :)

Thank you! I called him and he will look around for me. It seems like they have reasonable prices, which is good.

Great! I hope he finds some nice diamonds for you. Although I ended up buying my diamond from WF, Yekutiel was great to work with. He just didn't have anything I liked when I was looking.

I really look forward to seeing what he has available. I am wondering though... is it better to wait until after the holidays? It seems like vendors are so busy this time of year and you get a little less individual attention and less inventory.

I found another great one on eBay. Ask Yekutiel if he can call this in for you. Hopefully he'll give you a great price, like $21k.

I'm sure do many people are shipping for Christmas now. However, it's not like you're going to a busy store. Don't worry too much, IDJ will be available via email and phone and will provide you with great service.

Thank you Sakura,
I'll ask him about that one! I know I am nuts but I get pretty impatient if I don't hear back the same day, lol
