The pink is the best for the theme you are going for. Brown is hard to do with tuxes and suits, although it can work. I just looked at the jcrew site and those are the silk chiffon colors, correct? If that is the case the light shell is I think what you will be the happiest with. Garden''s in general have a lot of green. If the girls are in the bright green the dresses will be a focal point. I also think it depends on what they are paired with. Cream flowers would be ok with either.

Green. But I like bright colors.

However, I will say that the pink color looks too light--almost skin color...

Exactly what I was thinking. The peachy color is skin colored and would look good only on the right skin/ hair
Yup! The green should work for almost any skin tone, whereas the peach might clash. I know it would on me!
Exactly. I had to wear a peachy pink dress for my sister''s wedding, and sadly, it did nothing for either of her bridesmaids. The colour doesn''t really photograph well unless you have a complementing skin tone. I vote for that green (

it, wish it would have worked for my sister''s pink/green wedding) or brown!

WOW! Thank you everyone for all of your help!!

I really understand what everyone is saying about the green "popping" in pictures and being really fun. That is a lot of the reason we chose that color in the first place!

Now, after getting together an idea for the feel of the wedding, I am just so worried it won''t "fit".

I forget if I mentioned, but I plan on using white flowers, maybe with some hints of green. I''ll be doing all of my flowers myself...the centerpieces will be in mason jars.

My wedding isn''t until June, so I definitely have time. I''m just wanting to get more things done, and move past my indecision!! haha

Thanks again everyone! I''ll have to keep thinking about it and will definitely love to hear any thoughts, or if anyone has experience with these dresses/shades, I would love to see them!!! I''ll keep you all posted!

BTW les12 - it sounds like we''re planning the same wedding!!! :c) Do you have any pictures of any of your girls wearing the Light Shell dress?? I would love to see it!

I''ve actually seen it in real life, just not on the person, and it definitely is more peachy than pink, which is fabulous!

I vote clover for sure - the pink is going to wash some people out. I attended a wedding last june with those exact dresses in clover and it was such a fresh, lovely look.

I thought I''d post a picture of the wedding dress that I''m am pretty sure I will be getting...just need to decide now if I should buy it used, with a bustle, in pristine condition and a little too tight for $1,000, at a bridal salon I wasn''t completely impressed with for $1,600, or at an awesome salon with friendly people for $2,200???? (Weird how different the prices are between 2 salons, huh?)

My one bridesmaid saw it today and confirmed for me that it is an amazing dress and fits our "rustic, casual but classy, and vintage" feel. Let me know what you all think...especially which bridesmaid dress you think would really go with it....green or peach???

Is that dress by Marisa? I wore one of their other gowns but I definitely loved that one too, if I have it right. I would definitely call Pearl's Place before you make any purchases. They carry so many lines (including Marisa, if it is from that designer) and I got a HUGE discount from them.

ETA: How tight is a little tight? Not even one size or do you think its a whole size? Is there any way you can work out a return situation? For example, if you purchase the dress and it won't work for you then you can return it and lose $50 of your purchase price + shipping both ways? I've heard of deals like this being worked out before on for pre-owned gowns.

A friend of mine had those J Crew dresses in Clover at her June wedding last year. She had white and green flowers as well (white callas and green goddess callas) and I thought it looked great. I totally think that those dresses will go well with the rustic, homey feel of the mason jars, especially the strapless style!

Clairitek - It is Marisa!! I''ve tried on the size 10 at a salon, and it needed to be clipped at the waist and at the bust. The person selling the dress has a size 8, but said she had it taken in at the waist to fit her.

The bust on the 8 would fit perfectly....it''s the waist and tummy areas I''m worried about, but planning on losing weight from. (fingers crossed) She measure her waist as 27 inches...mine is 29. So I''m a little off, I just am worried that I won''t lose the inches.

I could ask the seller if she''d consider some kind of return...but the dress wouldn''t fit now anyways. So I''d probably have to order it, if I wanted the great deal, and then either lose the weight or sell it if I didn''t.

I''ll look into the seller that you mentionned. Thanks!!

Definitely look into Pearl's!! My gown was priced at $1800 retail and I got it for $1200 (still wish I knew how they are able to sell gowns so cheaply). That one you posted was my second choice gown. Its the same exact fit as the one I ended up with (which I just posted in the wedding dress thread). I bet they are the same insides with just different outer layers because the fit was seriously identical when I tried on both samples one after the other. I just checked my gown and there are 5 interior seams on the lining. Each of them had almost 1" of seam allowance. I bet if you find a top notch seamstress it would be let out plenty to fit you. If you are able to work out some sort of return policy I would totally just take it a recommended seamstress and see how much it would be feasible to let it out and still keep the integrity of the seams. Since the silk on the outside is layered it might be easier to mask where it was let out (given, I am not a seamstress, this is all just thinking aloud here). You could also get a good Spanx-type undergarment and try it on under the gown to see if that helps with the waistline at all.

Good luck! I LOVED my Marisa gown and the one you've chosen is seriously lovely.

ETA: Just found the listing for the gown you're looking at and I wanted to add that my gown had 6 interior seams, not 5 as I posted above. Also, you can see in her pictures that there is a shadow of a seam allowance in the pic of the gown hanging up and backlit. There is definitely hope!!

Thanks, Clairitek!

Actually, the gown on Preownedweddingdresses.com is not the dress I''d be buying. I contacted that seller, and it is horribly stained on the bottom of the dress!

I found another bride that was on a wedding blog, and she''d be selling her dress to me!

I definitely plan on getting some Spanx...but I really think I can lose the weight. I have 7 months, and am really motivated!!! Fingers crossed, I won''t have to have the dress let out.

Soo....I''m still stuck with the BM dress issue...what does everyone think, now that they''ve seen the wedding dress?? Peach or green??

Love your wedding dress! After seeing it I still think you should go w/ the peachy color....100%

I thought that was the one since you were using her picture.

I totally don''t doubt that you can lose enough to fit into the gown! I suppose I was just trying to calm you fears that if by chance you didn''t fit into it there would be another route to get it fitting gorgeously on you come your wedding day. I really hope you get the gown because its so beautiful.

After seeing your gown I am thinking that maybe the shell would be better. It is a softer look. I''m still concerned about how it will photograph though.

I still think either color would be lovely (helpful, I know!) but I wanted to chime in that if you choose to wear some sort of corset undergarment underneath your gown, when properly cinched you could lose 1-2" without be uncomfy. And what groom wouldn''t love to see a corset under there?!

Would you consider any other color other than the ones you''ve mentioned? I do like the peachy pink color but think it could fade out a bit. The green is a fun color but probably not the shade I would consider for a formal wedding. Would there be a different shade of either color that you might consider?

I do like both styles of dresses that are shown and think that either one of them could probably be worn again!
Ditto. I prefer the peachy pink color, but the one shown is too pale IMO. A more saturated peachy pink, like a coral pink, would look stunning!

I just checked out the J Crew site. How about the thistle color (grey) or the darker pink? If you went with the thistle color you could use the green and pink in the flowers and it would coordinate so nicely! Same goes for the espresso. If you had more time I''d say to wait until J Crew releases their new colors for next season but I''ve heard some sob stories about BMs waiting too long to order their J Crew dresses and having them end up on back order for a date too close to or beyond the wedding.

for me, peachy-pink. esp after seeing your dress & explaining the feel you want for the day.

Thanks everyone!

Clairitek - I used that picture because it was the best one I could find online to show the dress!

I agree with you about the Light Shell possibly not photographing well...I guess that''s why I''m having such a hard time! The Light shell fits the theme....but could be completely washed out in photos.

I requested a swab for Deep Rose...and it was WAY too pink for my taste. So that''s out. We are really only looking into the Silk Chiffon colors, because ALL of my girls love the Juliet dress!!

The Clover is pretty, and bright, and will photograph well...but I''m not sure if it fits our "feel". Our invitations are cream color with grass green colored dandelions (from Target

)

I thought the grass green with light green, peach, coral, brown, and white would be our colors. I want to get poms-poms in these colors from Etsy!

We have clear mason jars, and the bigger "cafe" clear string lights. We plan on doing white flowers, with rafia or burlap and lace. I also have some natural wood frames I got from IKEA for our engagement pictures. Table numbers will go on colorful paper (in the focal colors).

Now....with all of that said....green or light shell?? HAHA

After hearing the rest of the details- definitely green. You know it will photograph well. The green goes so well with all of the natural elements in your decor- the rafia or burlap, the natural wood frames for the engagement photos, and the invitations from Target (which are awesome btw!! love the Letter Impress line from Target. I used those invites for my friend''s bridal shower). The shell would go well with everything as well but green just SCREAMS natural, Springy, and fresh to me. I think it will go with your theme *perfectly* with no worries about washing out it photographs.

I think the green dress is really cute and fine for a more casual feel, but it in no way fits the vintage idea, IMO. The shell dress would look better with the black tuxes and would give more contrast against the green of the garden, but seriously, almost no one looks good in that color unless they have dark skin and I would be concerned about the color looking washed out in photos. I''d really work on trying to figure out a more flattering color.

The green will be much prettier in photos.

I finally decided on the Clover (green) and they were ordered today!

J. Crew is having 25% orders over $150...we saved about $200 on 4 dresses!!!

Can''t wait until they come in

My dress (the Marisa 815) will be ordered this week, as I found a fantastic resource in Cleveland, Ohio. If you''re in the area or somewhat close, check out AnythingBridal.com and tell them Jessica Martinez sent you!

Stacey is the best and so helpful, plus there prices are great!

Both are great in their own way. I think it will depend on your BM skintones and hair colour. for me the peach would look like I was really ill, sickly pale with a near nude dress colour, on others it would look great. But seriously on some skin colours peach is just horrible, and I am one of those. I would discuss with your BM. the peach can also look very nude on some, so see how they feel about that.

Love the green, but then that suits me.

good luck

I vote two colors, brown and pink
