Remember by post from a long time ago asking if Cartier will set non-Cartier stones?

I''ve just received a call from Cartier who have liased with Paris.

Only requests for >1.00Ct stones are considered.
There is a fair amount of paperwork involved to release the stone to Cartier.
It has to be of an exceptional quality :P
Expensive! :P

But do-able.

They did in the past..., so why not today?
Maybe not as freely as before, they are after all owned by the Richmond Group.

But if you commision Cartier with amazing gems and will be willing to pay the $$$$$$$$$, they will do it with pleasure.

What's "expensive"?

What is expensive?, considering you are going through this to get into a Cartier ring. I have heard that from many
older firms ie: Cartier, Tiffanys. Today, however there are more and more stones being passed through the family, and
folks would like to have these set into designer brands.
Hope they change there tune in the States.

Hmmm, interesting. It would be nice to have a cartier piece...too bad they don''t seem to do that here in the U.S. Instead...I guess people will continue to get custom inspired pieces instead of the real thing.
