Cathedral ring design help

The shank is too thin in my opinion.

She will need to be cautious with how she treats the ring and what she does while wearing it.

How thick is your shank @jewels4life ? It looks pretty thin too. How long have you had it? Any problems? Is it white gold
or platinum?

I understand! I was looking at petite cathedral from james allen and blue nile and theirs are all 18mm. That's where i gauge the 18mm tapered 16mm numbers.

What would you suggest though? I'm just mindful that the main diamond is 0.7ct only, so having too thick a band might make it look small :/

Mine is 1.3 in white gold. I know that’s tiny. I did check with the folks over at jaan Paul and they assured me that it would be sturdy and not to worry. I do trust them, but I am aware that accidents may happen . I’ve had it since July and I’ve had zero problems. I don’t baby it at all . I wear it everywhere, besides the gym . I’m fully insured, so I’m not really worried.

Wow it didn't look like a 1.3! Maybe the brightness from the decagon melee made the band look thicker

My partner finger is about 5.5 (compared to your 3.5) > so i think a 1.5-1.6mm band at the top probably will fit her well!

I couldn’t remember, so I contacted jaan Paul to confirm. I definitely think the decagon melee help I think yours is going to turn out gorgeous

The problem with such thin bands (looking nice isn't the issue), is that they go out of round then the melee start popping out.
I would at a minimum go with the 1.8 to 1.6 (even that is tiny).

Thanks so much! Think 1.8 to 1.6 is the plan for now - but would consider setting it a tad thicker
