Hi. I received a gift of a reed diffuser set by nest. I read where the scent can be dangerous to cats. Does anyone know anything about this?

Come on, all of you cat lovers. Does anyone know the answer?

google says.........
The reed diffuser itself does not pose a danger to cats. However, the essential oils in the diffusers can. The reason is that cats are missing specific enzymes that are required to process certain compounds found in many essential oils.

more google says that some oils even the smell can react with sensitive cats but its very rare.

Take away...
Probably ok but keep away so they can not lick or chew on them.

On another note if someone or some pet has allergies be very careful.
I can not be in the same room with many of them.

Cats have pretty delicate respiratory systems, so stuff that’s fine for us may trigger pretty nasty respiratory distress in cats. I wouldn’t risk it.
