I haven't seen anyone posted any stone with chatoyancy (Cat's Eye effect) and have been wondering why. These chatoyant stones are beautiful beyond belief, and in my personal opinion, they rival the beauty of many of the more common jewelry pieces. I would like to see anyone post theirs, since I'm a chatoyancy junkie. Here's a few from my personal collection, and oh they're all chrysoberyls.

WOW! They are all beautiful, but the first one is To Die For!!!! If I had a chryso like that, pics would be all over PriceScope :cheeky:

Thank you! I have a few more yet to be posted. The first one weighs about 13-15 carats and I kind of agree with all of you that it's the most stunning out of the lot, but my jeweller had to differ. He had said that the third stone is actually the most desirable one in terms of value as it shows the "milk and honey" effect where the rest of don't. The said effect is something I don't fully understand, as how would differ in dollar value per carat. Could someone enlighten me?

Beautiful! I've always lusted over star sapphires growing up.

I like the color of the first one the best. My best guess at what your jeweler meant is that the "eye" is much more pronounced (at least from the photo) on the 3rd one? There seems to be more distinction of the "eye" from the rest of the stone.

The third one is one of my very first few cat's eye article I acquired, and I have to admit that the 3 carat stone is quite the showstopper.

I had never even heard of these stones! You learn something new every day. They are all STUNNING!
