I was just looking our Crate and Barrel registry and I noticed a small link to CB2 at the bottom of the page. I'd never heard of it but apparently it's a more modern, contemprary Crate and Barrel. I thought the stuff was pretty cool but I still prefer the regualr C & B. Has anyone ever shopped at CB2? What do you think?

Also, random question, but when you see that some items have been bought, do you take it off the registry or let the item remain (so it says "fulfilled")?

Hi Zoe - they had just opened one of these CB2 stores in Chicago a few months before I moved. If I remember correctly, it definitely has a bit more of a modern edge to it than C&B. I did buy a few things there and have been pretty happy with the items. The quality is a little less than C&B but so were the prices. The last time I was there I went with my friend from NYC and she loved the place - she bought so much she ended up needing another suitcase to bring it all back on the plane.

As far as the registry, I am leaving the bought items on there - that way people will know if it was bought in case they were going to buy it themselves from another store (and also so people know it's been bought as opposed to just taken off cause I decided i didn't want it anymore).

Hi Emeraldfan!

My immediate area doesn''t have any of the big stores like Pottery Barn or Crate and Barrel, but about 40 minutes away there''s a new C & B that''s GREAT. We were in there for hours. I''ll have to see where CB2 is located and if there''s one close by, I''d love to check it out.

Thanks for the tip on taking off (or not taking off) registry items. I''ll leave them on for now at least.

Oh yeah baby! I love CB2 over the regular. I am EXTREMELY modern in taste. Almost George Jetsonish. Great stuff! §

a really good website for house decorating info and ideas is:

http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/

this website used to be my obsession before i started my whole ering/wedding projects. i found out about CB2 from them. even though it is called apartmenttherapy alot of hte info can be applied to any type of living space

had to chime in here. . . if you like CB2, try West Elm. It''s Pottery Barn''s "little brother" store. :-)

Thanks Cellososweet (what DOES that mean anyway?)!

The only time I''ve heard of West Elm has been on here. I''ll go check their website now and see where they''re located.

Ah, apparently there''s one that happens to be around the corner from the C & B we registered at in MA. We''re definitely going to have to visit pretty soon.

hehe. . . west elm is awesomeness :-) have fun perusing!

the name is because I play cello and no matter how hard I try to truly appreciate other instruments, it still the sweetest sound to my ears :-)

Oh, I feel embarrassed. Everytime I read your name, I read it as "sell-o-so-sweet." It''s never even crossed my mind that it''s "chell -o." Duh. And yes, I like the sound of the cello as well.

don''t be embarassed ;-) and have fun shopping!

I consider myself modern/contemporary when it comes to design so I love CB2!

Great suggestion by Cello - WEST ELM is great! I swear my house looks like the catalog..I have a shopping problem when it comes to that place!
