Center of Tanzanite looks clear?

Hi,
I got Tanzanite earrings for my mother's birthday. After bringing them home and looking more closely, I notice the center of the stones lacks color. Why is this? Might it mean they aren't real tanzanite? It was an established jewlery store, and my knowledge on this is limited, but it seems odd. They are 4mm circular. Sorry for the poor photo quality. 20210521_204722.jpg20210521_204734.jpg20210521_204559.jpg20210521_204634.jpg20210521_204315.jpg20210521_204644.jpg20210521_204654.jpg20210521_204440.jpg20210521_204717.jpg

Also, they're set in 14k gold. Idk if that matters, or might affect how the light hits it.

Your pictures are a bit blurry, but I suspect that’s more a result of cut than color. I believe the gemstones are showing a « window », where the cutting allows light to pass right through the center.

This often happens to save weight. So your gems might be a bit shallow in depth.

Yeah they are definitely blurry. I'll try to get better shots, but they are only 4mm, so it's hard with my phone.

I’m afraid that this is due to the cut of the stones. It’s called a window because when you look straight down you can see through it.
The colour also looks a bit grey (but that could just be the photos). If you’re not happy then I would suggest getting a refund. Tanzanites are quite easy to find and shopping channels often have them in earrings.

Yeah the photos make it look gray. In person, the "window" portion looks clear, or slightly reddish/orange in the right light.

Do you normally use a loupe to inspect tanzanites, or is it done with the naked eye like emerald?

Thanks
