OH MY- It''s my wedding week!

I''ve got about 4 days to go until I tie the knot, and could not have gotten here without the guidance, support, and inspiration from the wonderful guys and gals here on PS.

This thread is a collection of my wedding elements. I''ve had fun planning, but never let it totally run my life. FI and I took things into perspective and made this a fun and collaborative process. We were lucky that our parents really let us run with it and offered minimal input and headaches! In the end, it''s a celebration of our love and union, and we believe that the day will really be a true reflection of US. We''re expecting 70 of our nearest and dearest family and friends this Saturday afternoon.

The theme- California Wine Country Elegance
The venue- a small "boutique" winery in Temecula
The colors- everything seems to have ended up being either wine (burgundy) or champagne (ivory)- go figure!

Our priorities- the food, wine & photography. The ceremony will he held outside on the wedding lawn, with the vines and countryside in the background. The pre-reception will also take place there, and afterwards the guests will make their way up to the winery building/tasting room. Dinner will be held here with the barrels as the backdrop.

I don''t have a set order on how I''ll post things, but I''ll start with some of my DIY "projects"

the table numbers. each table will be named after a wine varietal (from different wineries we love). we're using empty wine bottles with a cork stuck in them. a short description of the varietal is featured on the back of the card.

the menus. they're double-sided. the other side (you can't see) features the menu, which is a family-style Italian feast. hopefully you can make out some of the yummy wines we picked out. oh yeah, I'm SUPER excited about this- we brewed our own wedding brew!! FI's a homebrewer, and one of his friends also made a special brew for the occasion.

I was originally just going to make a table tent thingy, but then got the idea to stick them into a champagne cork.

the placecards- three corks glue-gunned together and wrapped with burgundy ribbon. i''ve been saving corks for as long as I can remember, so I had a ton. this project hardly made a dent in my collection!

All 3 DIY projects together. I''m soooo not crafty, and am really proud of them!

Moving on to some "sparklies". Here's my headpiece. I LOVE the viney-looking design!
Please excuse my ratty hair.

I''m wearing my hair in a half up/down style. It will be similar to this, but much softer looking. I''m not wearing a veil.

My earring collection. I can''t decide on which pair to wear! I''m kinda leaning towards the pair on the right that look like little vines. Note that I will not be wearing any other jewelry (except for my ering/band)

Our bands.
LOVE them!

Are you sick of me yet??
here''s my something old- a vintage evening purse I bought at a boutique.

my something blue. FI is a red-sox fan. he''ll be sooo surprised! (and no, we''re not doing a garter/bouquet toss)

First, you are so creative. I love the vineyard and the colors and your table items. I think baskets with gorgeous different grapes spilling out would be stunning too. I love the way you are planning the hair and the tiara is so dainty and fits the theme too. What a lovely setting and how elegant you are making it. Sounds like a ball, and the weather should be nice now, not too hot. Congratulations and I am glad to hear it has been minimally stressful to you and your fiance and families!

We''ll have minimal flowers. they weren''t really that important to us. Here''s what my bouquet will look like:

Great stuff, keep ''em coming. Somehow I thought maybe a powder blue color becuase of your username.

The cake. Just picture it with sugared grapes and no flowers. YUM!!!

I think that''s all I have. For now...
My dress is over at my Mom''s. It''s really simple. Just a strapless, a-line, with minimal beading on the bodice & hem (looks like vines!) has no train, ruffles, merengue, etc... I bought it during my lunch hour at Alfred Angelo and I''m happy with it. It''s a dress.

I''ll try to get pics of my shoes (they''re also at mom''s). LOVE what I did to them (another "project")

THANKS for stopping by!

wow, loved how you tied all the elements together with the vine theme (no pun intended!). It''ll be a beautiful wedding, so excited for you!

Charger,
i cannot wait to see your wedding photos-
i love wine also, and i think your do-it-yourself projects are gorgeous- love the placecard holders!

i also admire your attitude- having fun but not letting it run your life. this is my mantra over the next 12 months. hope i can stick to it :-)

good luck these next few days and keep us posted-

congratulations!

i love your wine theme!!! The diy''s are soooo awesome!

Absolutely love all of it!!! The wine theme is fantastic and your DIY projects came out awesome--I would not have had the patience! Can''t wait to see the photos of the actual day. Very exciting, you''ve done a great job!!

What''s great is that this will be so memorable for your guests because you really took the time to incorporate elements of yourselves into the small details.

This looks like it''s going to be so much fun! Congratulations and best wishes!

Jackie

everything looks really great! Only a few days to go!!!

Charger,
Your wedding is going to be beautiful! I love that you have a wedding brew!

Just a few words of advice, make a very specific list of pictures you want for Steve. I am somewhat disappointed in the pics I got and I think some of it is my fault. I wanted pics of us walking to the four seasons, and I didnt get them, I wanted pics of the service staff with our trays of mojitos, i wanted more pics of george and I. But i didnt really communicate all of this to steve, nor did I take him up on his offer to do more portaits later in the evening, as I was having too much fun. Dont get me wrong I love my pics! Just be specific if photography is really important to you!

Seriously, your wedding is going to be amazing!

Everything looks great!!!

I am a great fan of wine (red''s in particular) so your theme is right up my alley.
