I am cutting my hair RIGHT after the wedding. Seriously cannot wait!

I need cute quirky earrings (a la Betsy Johnson)
But those are entirely to expensive for the quality.

Anyone now a good place to get neat earrings for a fair price?

Is there a TJ Maxx near you? They carry a bunch of fun jewelry for cheap. I've seen lots of Betsy Johnson stuff at the one near me.

I never thought to look there. Yeah we do I just never go.

I usually go to the Nordstrom rack we have, and there BJ stuff is still $15 plus. And as I don't find it the best quality. That's still a bit too much.

I'd Google them on eBay but I'm sure most would be Chinese knockoffs

Good idea about etsy. I'm on my way to search.

Yup check out Marshalls, TJ Max, Loehmans (a bit more then the other options) and Ross. I always find great costume jewelry there!

I make my own. Beadshop, Rio Grande. I am allergic to base metals, so even when I buy cheap earrings I have to replace the posts, so it's often just easier to make my own.

I also find target and nordstrom rack good places for parts/inspiration. And I do use Etsy for things beyond my skill level.

I don't do it often, though, I should say. Mostly because I find having a couple pairs of earrings is all I need. I mostly wear my studs anyway.

But I thought I'd raise that option.

Forever 21 stores. Huge selection, and it's constantly changing.

My god, I have been trying to keep my mouth shut but I can't anymore.

You just love to put down everyone's suggestions don't you? Fortekitty gave you an awesome suggestion and you just wrote it off.

And as for Betsey Johnson stuff at Nordstroms Rack being $15 and still too expensive, do you want people to make miracles? If $15 is too expensive for a pair of earrings, maybe you shouldn't get any at all.

You're never going to be happy with any of the advice/suggestions you get here. Why even ask?

Thanks everyone!

Ive been googling the stores you recommended that have websites. The department stores that you have to go into i plan on going to next week. I live near a mall, and all the stores you said we do have, just not around me, so i never really went in there. I totally will thanks!

I just an buying a few really nice earrings, and then a lot of just fun throw away pieces. So if they arent of quality, i dont want to spend too much, rather put my money toward the nice pair, you understand!

Thanks to everyone thats being so helpful! Great ideas!!

I was going to suggest Etsy too. The prices are typically pretty reasonable and I like the fact that I'm suporting someone's small business, hobby, etc. For the most part, the Etsy vendors are wonderful to work with too.

Are dollar stores cheap enough?

Plenty of fake and cheap ones...

Hey - some of those are really cute! But I'm with Niel - as cute as those earrings are, personally I'd be buying those styles just for fun, and only at just for fun prices so I could save my money for the real stuff! :wink2:
Thanks, i dont know if anyone has owned any betsey Johnson jewelry, but its of fairly poor quality. the stuff usually pops out or flakes off, i dont even think they are worth the discounted price of them. but i love some of them as they have an element of ridiculous. The fakes i am not to into buying just because i question the material and whatnot. Plus i dont like designer fakes in general

I am making myself some diamond studs ( smaller 4mm ones but they will be going on my second set not my lobe piercing) , as well as considering some Zircon ones, as i think those would really pop. My sister just bought me some lovely 8-9 mm pearl studs that i can rock a lot of the time too. I want to get some nice large black ones too, but im waiting for a thanksgiving PP sale for those. So I guess maybe i sound cheap, thats true i guess, but as quirky wear 3 times pairs of earrings to spice up a pixie cut, i dont think asking 5-10 dollars is the cheapest thing ever... Etsy and places that sell trendy jewelry seem to have a fair amount for that price... i just didnt know if anyone had a good vendor they like using. Lots of you ladies are good at finding little hidden web gems.

Look at the "Other listings" for each of these links too.

Etsy
This person has an assortment of fun stuff and some to choose from in the under $15 range.

Etsy
Another Etsy person. This one is newer with fewer reviews, but some fun stuff including dangly things and a selection of cute/fun items in the under $10 (some even $5 or less) range.

Etsy
Etsy again. No reviews for this person, but some fun stuff for $5 might be worth giving a try.

ETA:
Lots more fun stuff!

I understand wanting something super inexpensive. Some pieces are cute and fun but really only good to wear once or twice. Seems like a waste to get something more expensive!

Niel - I really, highly recommend looking on Etsy. They have some really unique things on there, and you're supporting a small business owner!

Etsy link
Another Etsy shop. This one only has one review, but LOTS for under $5 so might be worth a try. Look at the complete selection - she's got some fun stuff!

Awesome

I've been searching stay all weekend. Found a whole lot of cute ones. Especially some nerdy ones I'm all about. :geek:

Niel, not sure if you live in an area close to where they hold the gem and jewelry shows (http://intergem.net/ there is a link for upcoming shows in the middle of the page) but they always have a wide wide range of stuff! I got some cultured pearl studs for $3 that I put inside diamond jackets I already had and they look like a million bucks together.

What did I miss? Perhaps it was something that took place elsewhere, not in this thread, because I cannot see where Niel, "put down everyone's suggestions" here.

Indeed it was kind of Fortekitty and others to post about several places where Niel could find the earrings she mentioned. Fortekitty is an active, helpful poster. But if Niel is looking for bargain basement priced earrings right now I do not think it is meant as an insult to any of the posters here on Pricescope! Why is she not allowed to look for earrings that cost $1.00 0r $2.00 a pair rather than $15.00?
