Cheapest Wedding Dress Method- Replica?

Hello All!

I've been on the hunt for my perfect wedding dress and I've found it. However it is wayyy too expensive and over my budget. I know I can try and find something similar in stores but my mind keeps drifting back to the specific 2010 Pronovias dress.

I've tried searching high and low for the same dress Used to no avail and it seems my options are very limited. I already go to a few used bridal dresses websites, and sample sales online as well as in stores but nothing close enough is being sold. Is getting a replica custom made of the dress really come out well??

I have yet to see a replica (not inspired but a real copy) really hit that same exact look that they were going for. The trunk show will only give me a 10% discount and it's still completely out of my budget impossible. Even the replicas of that dress seem to be out of my budget.

Any suggestions or recommendations of places/ websites/ methods or a no way, don't do that?

Have you tried Preowned Wedding dress.com or some other preowned sites? I had my Jim Hjelm 8813 made by a dress maker on Etsy and it is identical, only hitch was that it''s slightly too small but the dress maker is going to have it let out for me for free. So it is possible to have a replica made and have it look identical. It was also 10% of the cost of the JH 8813, so that made it even more perfect.

I''ve been stalking that site like crazy!

The 2010 collection, Macao. I am looking for mermaid, lace, empire waist, and big brooch-like right at the center of the the empire waist to draw the focus and it''s PERFECT. And I love the lace cover on top because it''s a winter wedding as well. It''s PERFECT

I am in love with these dresses! It''s exactly what I look for!!! Pricewise are they cheaper?

Ebay would be my best though? They don''t seem to sell any in the US or have any boutiques.

I''m a size 0-2, so don''t want to ruin any dress by altering it way too much.

Not sure you would have to call a bridal boutique I know I saw some in my searches (I am in Australia so prices are skewed to the more expensive side) however I don't remember them being more then the pronovias dresses I saw so really worth a shot

Also if you find one you love get the style number and call all the local and not so local shops get the best price and ask if they will match it - thats how I knocked $600 off the price of my dress

Have you tried calling Pearl''s Place? They are authorized retailers for most every dress, but there prices are significantly lower than for most places. You just call them up, give them the style & designer, and they can give you a price. For instance, there was an Alfred Angelo dress I tried on that I really liked. Their price is 45% off the MSRP ($150 less than the houseofbrides.com site which also has discount dresses). And if I was a mail-order customer then it would probably be even less. (It''s more expensive if you go in the real store because they offer free alterations). I didn''t see Pronovias on the website, but I did see Aire Barcelona. And sometimes they can get a dress even if the designer isn''t listed on their website, so I would definitely contact them.

The chances of a replica looking like the real thing is very slim. I was in love with the Pronovias Nemesis from the 2008 collection which has been discontinued. I tried to make it several times and it never turned out right (but this dress is very different with the tulle etc). Luckily, I ended up being able to find it and I don''t regret buying it even though it is way too big. I might not wear the dress .. but that''s another story.

I suggest you set up a saved search on ebay and keep checking. It will show up.
