I just picked this guy up yesterday :D

I went to have my OEC earrings appraised at a local jeweler, Barbara Oliver and Co. http://www.barbaraoliverandco.com/, and I just so happened to bring a box full of CS goodies :D

After the appraisal and a "I'll show you mine, if you show me yours" game of colored stones (let me say she has the BEST faceted watermelon tourmaline I have ever seen. It's just huge and gorgeous and GORGEOUS) I asked her what she could do with my trilliant chryso.

In case you don't know what I'm talking about, here it is loose :D

She instinctively knew my style, clean lines with presence. Did a quick sketch, a few tweaks and we were off to the wax process. The wax was done in a few days and one simple tweak and off to the goldsmith it went. A week and a half later, I had this HEAVY gorgeous chunk of white gold and chrysoberyl on my finger. After an hour of just standing in her showroom and watching the stone just sing I left. Three close calls in the car from being distracted I made it home safely :D

The window is only apparent in the lightbox photos for some weird reason

Sooo cool! Awesome design!

Amazing! I love chrysoberyl - it comes in such lovely, eye-popping shades. I like the shape of that ring for a trillion and it looks great on your hand!

Hey Davi - awesome and how satisfying on so many levels - you got to "play" that she instinctively knew your style and that you ended up so quickly with something you love!

I have to say I think this is the first time I have seen you make something for yourself besides Colonel Mustard! You must have run out of women relatives...he he

looks great!! Awesome design-love the clean, geometric lines. And what incredibly fast service!

Davi - that last photo of the second bunch - it looks like a laser-beam!
And a very cool design for the ring. :D

VERY cool ring, David! Love the design -very contemporary and plays off the trillion - looks amazing on your hand. Quite a presence to it. The Chryso is really "popping" in all the pics - it must be a huge neon piece of candy IRL!!

Congrats - awesome ring!

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is all I have to say. Except for A-MAZING!!!!!

Being (another) guy on here, its really hard to get excited about all these settings that are shown that, while beautiful, are for women and nothing that I'd ever want to wear on my own finger..ya know? But this....love it! Love the design, the stone, everything.

Congrats---that is the nicest ring I've seen on PS.

That is REALLY a stunning jewel you have there, love the setting design and the stone is beautiful! I'd love to have a similar ring made for my trilliant spess, albeit in yellow gold but I don't think I've seen a nicer men's trilliant ring design before! Congrats and wear it in good health. BTW what are the stone dimensions and the ring size and shank width, so I can better visualize how it looks in person? :appl:

Beautiful-- it looks like a super hero ring!!!

WOW, very cool ring! I love the design and your stone is gorgeous

Thank you, and I do agree about chryso :D What I love is the color shift in it. You can have a full on change with alexandrite, but even the non alexandrites shift a bit. This one has a far more greeny yellow in the sun and then shifts to a beautiful buttery yellow inside.

Laser beam is right! It was cloudy where the jeweler is when I picked it up so I had just the beautiful color against the metal. But when I approached my driveway the sky parted and I finally was able to see what this stone could do when it was set! Laser beams with dynamite!

Wow Chris that's quite a compliment! I totally get what you mean! I too love to look at the beautiful settings these ladies have but have never thought OOOOH a double halo with a super thin pave band would look AMAZING on my hand.

We're stuck with jewelers who think we all want a screaming eagle head or a giant free form glob of gold with a bunch of tiny diamonds all up in it or a jewel encrusted Marvin the Martian. I'm glad to see Barbara knew not to even suggest that stuff (she wouldn't anyways because that's no her style to begin with). It's hard to find "stock" stuff that doesn't look like you took off your grandfather at his funeral or you're part of "the family."

Thank you, the ring is a 10.5 and the width is 7mm the stone is just shy of 7mm as well. It weighs an incredible 14.5g, I walk a little bit lopsided LOL

Absolutely fantastic! (and I really mean that). The setting fits the stone perfectly and you (and your tastes) perfectly! A big congratulations - I love it!

Love, love, love that stone and that ring. Perfect for you. That ring will look amazing years from now...what a gorgeous and timeless style.

Wear it and enjoy it! Wow! :cheeky: :appl:

That looks amazing. Love the lines and how it looks on you. Yummy stone!
