I might have to go see the stone by myself. I am working between Philly and NYC right now so it isn''t hard for me to get there. The flights for my boyfriend is expensive and he isn''t sure it is worth the trip for him. He thinks this is the stone for us. We will see how it goes. I do love my current stone right now so we will wait and compare. It is a case of comparing a nice modern cushion versus a more antique look. I just love them both! Why can''t I have more than one e-ring?

Well, I think you''ll be able to KNOW right away if it''s not the one. And if you''re on the fence, maybe then BF can make the trip? I agree with everyone else though- it seems this stone is really worth the effort to take a look at in person. Can''t wait to see if you love it!

pixley - I am not sure if you are still checking this thread. I just wanted to say that I am from Toronto too! I would love to chat with you offfline if there is a way.

I''m totally checking back to see what''s up. I''m in BC though, not Toronto. I don''t know how to connect off line but would be happy to.

Hey CharmyPoo,

I was reading your remarks in in Blinginator''s thread. I''m glad you got to go see your diamond...I hope you find what you are looking for!

I just wanted to say, I hear ya about the potential for PSers to try and snatch up a diamond before you can decide. You know that thread I posted about the rectangular cushion I''m interested in...well, I didn''t want to make the leap quite yet, especially not before my NY trip, but the vendor wouldn''t hold it...and now they are showing it to 6 other cushion seekers over the weekend!!! I can''t believe that all of a sudden there are 6 others looking at the diamond I picked out. I know there are a lot of people in this world, but...geesh! Makes ya wonder.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that I can relate.

And, I feel for ya.

Good luck with everything and fill us in when you can!

Charmy,
How did your visit go? Are you any closer to finding "the stone"?

Regarding the line-up of would-be cushion snipers,
I promise I'm not one of 'em

, but I can only imagine how many lurkers are hot to trot for those chunky cushions. So weird that Rock_of_Love's vendor would not hold it.

If there are six people lined up to see it, can't they just wait until you decide?!? Yeesh.

Pixley: I guess it is first come first serve - most vendors will hold it until you see it but after you see it .. you don''t have much time to make a decision. I will post an update soon but I am kind of worried that the lurkers will snatch it up before I can make the call. I am really unsure because each stone has some of what I want and some I don''t like. I might be ready to pass on both stones but I know I will be waiting months before someone else comes along. Plus, there are no guarantees that I will find something "better".

Rock of Love: Is ERD holding a stone for you? I may have saw your stone too but it wasn''t posed as an option for me. He told me someone will come to see it next week. He has a lot of customers right now all looking for almost the same thing.

Yeah, there is a lot of pressure these days to make a decision quickly!

ERD sent me an email about a stone, but it was square, so I told him I was looking for something rectangular. He hasn''t sent me any other options yet, so I''m not sure what I''ll be looking at. The stone I viewed is at another vendor...and I guess the "see and release" policy holds true!

And, as Pixley said before, don''t settle! Unless you are in a hurry, it seems to me that stuff pops up all the time. Have you contacted Jonathan at GOG, too? He has some nice stuff...some really lovely square ones, too!! And, I love the videos he does, he just did some new ones and a few of them have square cushions in it.

I have decided to stick with Mark unless something horrible happens. Mark has been a pleasure to work with plus my first stone is from him. It makes the trade-in a lot easier.

What were the specs of the square cushion he showed you?

He didn''t specifically show me any squares because I''m looking for a rectangular one, but he does videos when he gets new cushions in...and there happened to be one in a video that I watched that had one of my contenders in it, too. Also, you can see a few on his website that he has purchased for his inventory. But, he calls in stones too, based on what you are looking for. I can''t remember exactly what specs you were looking for, but here''s the info:

Here''s the video:

And, I think this is the one from the video on his website:

I guess I''m just one of those people that reaches out to everyone and anyone in my search. Its nothing personal (or maybe its really peronal!!), I''m just trying to find "the one."

I am excited to know what happened?

Was it yummy?

It's so hard isn't it? I'm guessing that stone that that Rock_of_Love linked to would be perfect for you if it were in the D-E-F range? I guess that's the beauty of cushions and the challenge with that shape; they are all so incredibly unique!

I used to have a 1.15ct Leo diamond (colour I, very strong blue fluorescence). I loved the diamond and it was definitely not milky, but in certain lighting it looked positively liliac and not like a diamond at all. When I came to sell it (I live in the UK) I didn''t get much for it, because of the strong blue fluorescence.

You''d really need to see this in different lighting, with your own eyes, to even consider it.
