I like the Dora better and I think it will look especially gorgeous once it is the right size for you!

Also, I was wondering...what does hollow-to-hem mean?
Thanks for your vote sunnygirl! BTW, your ring is beautiful! I think hem-to-hollow is a way of custom making your dress... They measure you from your collarbone (I think?) to where the dress should hit the floor. That way, if you are short and there is beading or detail at the hem, it doesn''t get cut off. Or if you have a mermaid or trumpet skirt, the part that flares out should start at your knee instead of your ankle (like on a sample).

I am pretty sure the Dora is made to my measurements, but I will have to double check on that. Decision day is tomorrow!

ah yes that makes sense. I am 5''2" so i will need my dress to be made that way too. The Dora is absolutely beautiful and seeing all these pictures of it is making me want to try it on!

Good luck with your decision! Both dresses are great but the Dora just has that special something to it!

Hey CJ....I was being really bad and I searched for Melissa Sweet on Ebay. There is a Dora, and it is actually the same girl selling it as the one I was telling you about who lowered the back a little and added the ruffles to the back. Just thought I would send you the link so you could see what I was talking about....

OMG I''m about to cry...when this girl was talking about selling the dress she told me she wanted $2800 and now she is selling it for $1800....I would have to wear flats with it though...God this is the most awful feeling....

KARASUE! You are terrible! $1800 is a lot of money for a dress that you wouldn''t be able to wear the way you want...with heels. I love your new dress. You love your new dress (right?). It looks like it was made for you. Start picking out BM dresses and flowers now! When you described what she did to the dress (the v shape in the back, and continuing the pleated detail around to the back), I thought I wanted to do it too. But honestly, not that exciting!? Maybe I''m just trying not to spend any more money than I have to...haha.

By the way, I went to Wedding Atelier last night. I BOUGHT A DRESS. THE SEARCH IS OVER. I canceled my appt at PoB in NJ. Hooray! I''m also nervous at the same time!!

what did you buy????? I really liked the WA too, I was a little put off by the fact that they make you take off your shoes but their dresses are in fantastic condition. anyways, what did you buy???????

CJ, you aren''t allowed to say you bought a dress, and then provide NO details! That''s against PSer policy!!!

I KNOW. Heehee. I kinda thought I would get in trouble after I click out of the thread. I told the consultant about the 2 that I was trying to decide between. We agreed that the sash on the Jim Hjelm is a very important aspect of the dress, and no matter which way I tie it, it will overwhelm me. And it didn''t have that "wow" factor that the Dora did. So she pulled out a few others and the Dora. She said in the 15 years she''s been doing this, she couldn''t think of a better dress for me than the Dora. The other dresses, an Alvina Valenta and a Cymbeline Paris were beautiful, but not as perfect as the Dora. So we put Dora on again (it''s the 3rd time I''ve tried it on. A size 8 at PoB, a size 12 at Kleinfelds, and an 8 at Wedding Atelier). She pinned it so well this time that I could see how it would fit when in my size. I love it so much...it''s the dress! It''s being made hollow-to-hem for 4.5 inch heels. And I''m going to get a looooooooooooooooooong veil. What is that called, cathedral length?

I almost feel guilty for this report, because Karasue, I know you''ve been having dress doubts. I''m off to post in your thread.

Crown, congrats!!!! You will look beautiful!

Absolutely DO NOT feel guilty!!! I am thrilled for you! Who did you work with at Wedding Atelier? Did she give you a good deal?

Mona helped me. I *guess* she gave me a good deal. Apparently the alterations are a flat fee, and a pretty hefty flat fee at that... I think no matter what, I would have felt guilty about how much I spent. But I am VERY excited.
