I talk daily online with people over there.
There are some special skills that are in very very short supply but overall enough troops.
Thee skills that are needed take years to develop so there isn''t much they can do about it.
You cant train an explosives expert overnight.
The biggest problem is piss poor equipment for the task and poor planning.
The military as a whole wasn''t trained or equipped to do what it is doing.
Training programs are in place now but it will take 10 years to get everyone trained and by then a new set of challenges will pop up if the .gov keeps up the crap it has been doing.

can''t disagree with that...the article does mention the removing of equipment from afganistan to iraq....so now we have two ''theatres'' with inadequate personnel and equipment. smart move, neocons!
the neocons just didn''t want to hear what the military had to say....or anyone for that matter....in their march to a very unnecessary war.
