Some of you may know I am working with Brian Gavin on a 3 stone ring. He is recutting my current diamond to become an ideal cut. The color is G clarity SI1. I am now shopping for my center stone and will get the matching side stone once I have exact numbers from the recut. I am fine with the clarity being SI1 with the new stones. My question is what color stones would you look for? Would you look G-I or stick only with G? Of course if I go down a bit on color I may be able to go up a bit on size which would be nice. But bottom line I want a cohesive looking ring. What do you think???

I think I color should be fine but really depends on your sensitivity, I am very bad with colors... :P

What kind of setting/metal are you going to mount these on?

Generally keep centre and side stones within 2 colour grades as a rule of thumb, but if you prefer G colour for all then stick to that.

We are going with platinum probably either of these settings

I guess I really need to look at diamonds in person again side by side because I don''t honestly know if I can tell the difference between a G or I. I do like the color of my G but who''s to say I wouldn''t like an I. Back to a B & M to compare I guess. We are looking probably at .8 or .85 side stones and 1.5-1.8 center depending on budget. Anyone with a preference to the center stone with sides that size?
