Colored Stone Engagement Ring

I have a beautiful antique purple star sapphire ring that I adore. However, the stone is cracked on the side because I banged it, so I don''t know how sturdy they are.

I think that a pink sapphire in a halo would be gorgeous.

Honestly, I don''t really love black diamonds, and I wouldn''t want one for an ering, but that''s just MHO.

Among the sturdiest of stones, but I guess you found just the right (or should I say, wrong) spot to hit, and generated enogh force - which is quite a lot. Have you considered wearing jade rings, just to see if you can destroy one (they''re even more dificult to damage)?

OK, maybe the stone was already cracked or had a heavily included area, so it might not have been all your fault
