Colorless Diamonds and Rose Gold

I am considering maybe setting an oval diamond in a rose gold solitaire. The stone will be colorless (D-F range) and I was wondering if the stone will pick up pink from the metal even if it is set with a white gold head? I have heard this before but not sure if it's true. I know warm metals can enhance warmer diamonds but in this case my stone will be colorless. I just want something a bit different.

If you have any rose gold ovals that would be fantastic! Thanks :appl:

I have a colourless diamond (although it is an H not a D-F) set in rose gold and it doesn't pick up any tint from the rose gold. I use to have it set in white gold and I have noticed no difference in tint now, if anything, the rose gold makes the white of the diamond pop even more! I think you only need to be wary if you have a colour J or below.

Mine is an "e" in rose gold with pink diamond halo and I don't think it makes it look warmer at all.

I ended up getting an oval set in yellow gold because it was already set and I liked the look. Now I am thinking of whether or not I should pair it with a matching yg band or get one in rose gold? It will be a plain band... decisions, decisions LOL :cheeky:

Pictures please!

I personally would not do a rose gold band with a yg e-ring. I like white metals with rose gold but not yellow.

The more I think about it, the more afraid I get it will clash and I will get bored. So I'm sticking with a yellow gold plain band for now. I just have to decide on width!
:)

Have you considered that think Tiffany one with the gold outside rim of a plat band?

Do you mean platinum with a rose gold rim?

No. I know this is about RG but if you're looking for a band with your ring, it would be lovely..
