K. Pawn shopping for my bday gift from hubby. So far here are my choices. First up is this blue stone. Love the setting. Stone has a chip but I’m not mad at it. 14k gold.
The next choice is a tanzanite also has a chip but not very noticeable. I can get both of these or hold out for a bigger one piece. Having a hard time passing these up, tho. Talk me out of them. Lol8AE31EBE-DA4B-4791-92DD-332F870CF466.jpeg

Fun finds! I love pawn shopping. I would hold out for less chippable stones, although they are tempting!

Or because I need another band, lol. Love the tinted diamonds and that setting of this band.

Band or big green IMO
But I do like the blue setting posted top

i love that first blue one
i would need to see it without my glasses on to see if i would notice the chip
the green one is yummy

I like the setting on the blue one, is it zircon?

Are you looking for a wow piece or just something pretty to add to your collection? If it’s the latter then I would go for the blue ring. Otherwise I’d wait.

Decided to wait!

Ok. I should add that I passed bc I found a piece on eBay. But I’m having doubts bc the seller is claiming the stones are all natural. Seller has great feedback but the pics don’t look it! It’s oddd. I mean. If the ring is what it says and the pics are just bad, I’ll be super happy. But part of me cna see that the stones look like glass. Has anyone ever had this happen to them?

That big green ring is cool! I'm no help w Ebay stuff, but how's the return policy?

Seller agreed to full return but I just can’t keep thinking to myself that I know better! Like the pics and even the close-up’s look sooo glassy. It can be a hassle if it turns out to be what I suspect but it can be exactly what I want if it’s what us being described.

You like to gamble right? There is a return policy…….

So do you guys think these stones look glassy?

Kind of looks like white topaz or sapphire to me. They are saying the sides are diamonds? :eh:

Whenever I bought something sus, hoping it would be better or look better in person, it never (ever) was.

I hear you!!!! Like. Common sense says don’t. But. Seller has great feedback and has answered all my questions! Plus it’s not like I’m paying for a cubic zirconia price. That’s why im so puzzled.

I would pass but that’s because I hate the hassle of returning. If you just have to know then maybe it’s better to buy it than to not and have the “what if” feeling.

Omg!! Same!!! I am leaning towards canceling but hubby says he’ll take care of the return. Still. Why would someone with great feedback be selling with such an inaccurate description?

It’s a mystery but I think sometimes even experienced sellers can have one that slips through the cracks. Hey, I hope it turns out to be all genuine and amazing, can’t wait until you get it!

They even look like they have a hint of blue color. Definitely don’t look like diamonds.

I liked the “go gamble! ” idea
until I saw the pics.

Omg!! Like. Could it be just bad pics?? Seller said her jeweler confirmed all to be natural stones. Sigh. If I cancel I will always wonder. We always tell posters that we can’t tell if stones are real from just pics so I’m hoping this is the case, lol

Definitely don't look like diamonds to me, but if returns are free it csnt hurt

So I emailed her and asked for better pics and she said she would get them to me when she gets back from her trip and in the meantime she will cancel the sale and listing

It occurred to me (in the shower where all the best thinking happens) that maybe people don’t typically check out the items they purchase for authenticity. We are better informed than the average consumer here, maybe trust but verify isn’t typical outside PS.

That could explain why she has such good reviews, could be she has just gotten lucky for a long time. Maybe only one out of a hundred items in at as described, the chances of someone catching on would be slim.

I wonder if she has IG and/or could upload a vid.

Replace “in at as described” with is not as described above, I can’t edit my post since it’s been too long.

I swear I don’t drink when posting, maybe I should start!
