I was told by an employee of Argyle that they are coming out with an online verification system for any Argyle diamond that has a laser inscription.

Direct Quote: We will shortly be launching an online service that will verify the ‘4 C’ characteristics of an Argyle stone once the laser number has been entered.

No time frame was given.

Yay! Thanks, that's great news. :D

Very helpful and would free up their time with requests and run-arounds for verification.

Absolutely. That was why I had contacted them. I'm surprised it took them this long to get a system in place. They must have cataloged the diamond data already, you'd think a verification system would have been fairly simple.

Awesome, thanks for the update! :appl:

BTW, years ago when I bought my pink they only laser inscribed a number onto the 'better' ones.
Now that the mine is running dry I've seen inscriptions on smaller and fainter diamonds, even brown ones.

This 0.20 ct Pink Brown got both an inscription and the even more coveted and prestigious Argyle certificate.

It's strikes me as a tacky money grab, but I can't really blame them since Argyle IS a business.

I couldn't agree more Kenny. The inscription used to be for prestige, now it's becoming just an identification marker. However I have to say I did (finally) buy into the Argyle hype and bought a pink with an inscription and report. That's why I was "bugging" Argyle with my questions and received the info about the verification system.
