Strongly looking at eternity rings, half circle of diamonds. Would be looking to get 4 of them to make a stack (no big rock on top, just 4 of these bands together).

Here are the specs of the Tiffany's ring:
$2,350
Platinum
.23 TCW
VS+ clarity (they keep telling me VS1/VS2 or better)
G+ color (average)
Cut: unknown?
Width: not sure but supposedly around 2mm

Here are the specs of the BN ring:
$1,550
.30 TCW
VS (average) clarity
H color
Cut: unknown?
Width: 2 mm

What do you guys think? Perhaps the most important thing is "sparkle". One thing that worries me is the comment of "average" clarity/color from BN. Tiffany's never publishes anything but they always seem to indicate MINIMUM color/clarity versus average. Am I overthinking it? Any and all feedback is welcome and appreciated!

Another question:
Does anyone else know if a place that sells a similar ring that they make regularly? I have a bead on some options for custom makes but custom carries with it its own risks (sizing, etc). Anyone have any thoughts in general? I may contact Leon Mege, Brian Gavin, etc.

I own a Tiffany band and I will say I have not encountered anything like the workmanship on their bands, and it was worth the money to me for the quality of finish and the ability to pick it out and loupe it myself. The stones Tiffany uses in the bands are pretty nice, I feel. I have arrows in every one of these tiny melee diamonds that I can very clearly see. I have (as evidenced all over the board) had ZERO luck with custom work for eternity bands. The best luck I had was with Facets Collection. But even that was not quite as well finished. The way they make theirs, die-struck, was the important part to me, because it was machined and would be "straight" and not have any wonkieness that I had issues with from cast pieces in the past. But the finishing was not always fantastic.

Also--the Novo is 2.2mm I think, possibly 2.4. I had it measured bec before I got the channel set 2mm I was looking at that and I just didn't like it with my ering.

IF You go custom from BGD I would get these, in plat

My friend has the White gold and it's quite lovely

Thank you very much for the replies. I know a lot of people believe Tiffany's is overpriced but it's all about the product for me. The name means nothing to myself or to my SO.

04Diamond - Thank you for the link to BG, I am familiar with his work but unfortunately that has diamonds all the way around and they are much larger, which isn't quite the style I am looking for.

ame - Thank you for your comments. I am REALLY wary of custom work. It's a risk and while reputation is important, you just never know. The term "nonrefundable" comes up a lot in that realm :)

More comments welcome and appreciated!

I have been burned SO BADLY by custom and by very reputable companies. I personally feel jinxed. My standards are insanely high, and I am someone that just doesn't feel like those standards can be met anymore. That BG that I posted I have seen in WG in person and it was fantastic. I had issues with WF back with BG was at WF, and despite a majority of people having great experiences, I was an odd-man-out. I was impressed with the ring I saw in person, though I have no idea how I'd feel with it in platinum. Gold and Platinum are very different creatures.

For that ring, I think the Tiffany price isn't totally outrageous. I know mine was about $2300? and I found it pretty reasonable considering the brand. I remember when I came home with the half eternity my DH was like "oh...why didn't you just get the full?" I told him that while i loved the full, it's just impractical. And it is. But I REALLY did waffle, and I ALMOST did buy the full. It wasn't much more pricewise but I didn't want the mental anguish that would come with that. I already worry enough with this. Anyway... I did compare to custom and other outlets as well and I was maybe $200 more than those for just buying a premade from Tiffany that it made it worthwhile. Esp since some of the custom ones couldn't guarantee the width I wanted, or wouldn't be returnable if they weren't quite what I wanted. I paid significantly more for other major brands to make me bands with lesser metal weight and lesser diamond weight and generally lesser quality craftsmanship (sloppy!) and most of that I lost. I didn't necessarily want a Tiffany ring, esp after past ill-experience with them, but after I got past the frustration of the last failed band that didn't meet my standards despite being absolutely INSANELY in love with it, the idea of walking in, sitting down and looking at the stock on my own with a loupe or microscope, saying this one is made to my standards and buying it and walking out (more than once..since I had them bring in quite a sizable quantity of this same ring...) made it more appealing to get past the embargo my husband and I had with them. The brand to us was not important but now that it's done with and we have it and I don't feel like there will be any issues if I have to get it polished or fixed or anything. I just walk my butt into any Tiffany's, and they ship it to NYC. And that is comforting.
