I know it''s completely ridiculous, and I''m a little embarassed to admit it, but every once and a while when I see an e-ring or a stone online that I covet, I get a little disappointed when I see that it''s been sold (I like antique rings/stones, so it''s a little more of a challenge to find something that speaks to me).
emembarrassed.gif
Example - I recently sent my boyfriend a link to a gorgeous stone from the Erica Grace website that was firmly over budget (he wanted a visual of the type of stones I like), and I was bummed when I saw that someone had put it on hold, even though I knew from the get go that it would never be mine. After the two seconds of disappointment passed, though, I did manage to laugh at myself for being so silly.

I understand. I stalk rings online.

lucky enough, the ring i want can be ordered from the manfacture. What makes me dissapointed is when i noticed that my gma''s ering hasnt been moved/touched since the last time i picked it up (we''re using the store for my ring).

BUT, then again i know it takes at least 8 weeks to get the setting ;)

Oh my I know exactly what you''re talking about. I''m keeping a close watch on a lot of the stones on the GOG website, and my boyfriend knows which ones they are (i can''t seem to keep it to myself, try as i might). When one sells, instead of being disappointed, I''m immediately getting my hopes up... (could it be?? he bought it for ME??)

Hasn''t happened yet, but one of these times one of those sold stones will be mine!! hehe

I''m beginning to think he''s gonna ask them to find him a stone that''s not listed on their online inventory, just cause he knows that I check it like 5x a day

I can''t help it!! This LIW syndrome is killing me!

Gotta be able to laugh at yourself though.

I do the exact same thing on the James Allen site! I have tons of the stones on my wishlist, hehe. I wonder the same thing: will he call and get one not listed on the site so as to be sneaky?

Laughing at yourself is key!

i do the same thing. every time a new guy gets on PS saying he''s going to be proposing soon i look at his handle and try to find any hint of my boyfriend. i know it''s silly but i can''t help but think about it every time.

Hehe, my mind started going there for a moment. I was thinking, "Well, gee, I only e-mailed him the link yesterday, and suddenly it''s gone? And it''s only $2,000ish over his (total) budget..." Ahhh...don''t you love the way the LIW mind tries to rationalize things?

I did that too for the first month.. and then realized my boyf is such a technophobe that would NEVER happen.

When such things happen to me, I like to pretend that HE actually bought it secretly! Silly, I know!

Thats cute!

I know my SO wouldn''t purchase online, mainly because we are in Australia and he isn''t huge on International shipping BUT with that said, it doesn''t mean I don''t look, print things off, and leave them on his desk just to give him an idea of what I like

(Fingers crossed that your SO did buy the stone.. you never know!)

OMG, I totally understand. I am in love with one particular stone on James Allen, and am so afraid that it will get taken by someone,

I only pray my bf gets to it before someone else does!

Don''t worry, I know how you feel, I LOVE checking out all the ladies e-rings on here, and I get a little teary eyed, and wonder when I will be showing off. I share your pain, your not the only one. Trust me, the moment will come for you and the perfect ring will be there.

Parrot, I do the same thing! I love Simply Sapphires/Color Symphony. They have beautiful, one-of-a-kind rings. And every time one that I love is sold, I am a little disappointed! Then I get over it, and find a different one to drool over.

No worries, as far as silly habits go, you''re definitely in good company here!

I always secretly get bummed when one of my faves gets sold....but then I find some others that I stalk...lol.
