okay, i just read my directions
37.gif
and the obvious missing piece is:
to get multiple pieces of the quote in, you have to edit each one separately. i.e. hit quote, then edit out the parts you don''t want, then respond. if you want another part of the quote after that, you have to hit ''quote'' again and follow the same process. so, to get multiple quotes, you basically have to ''quote'' then edit out, then respond then hit quote again and repeat the process.
Let me see if this works.....

Thanks belle!
you are a prodigy!

are you ready to try quotes by different people?
35.gif

it has it''s uses but i think people assume you are only quoting one person and they don''t realize you are addressing multiple people with just one post. so, it''s usually not worth the effort.
34.gif
editing quotes is priceless though! good job!

Then type your response under my first sentence. <----- and delete this one (and the one below). Then hit quote again, and relply to this sentence, and delete the first one.

I go away for a few days (for work! Boo! Foul! Rubbish! Boo!!!!) and everyone has seen the movie!!

Ellen, it's not surprising you weren't overwhelmed the first time you saw it - I first saw it in high school at a friend's insistence and thought 'what the hell was the big whoop about that?' About 30 viewings later though, I could quote you the whole movie, verbatim. It's an appreciation born out of repetition, not something that totally blows you out of the water the first time you see it, like Shawshank Redemption does. And as I recall, that movie wasn't a big splash at first but it too has a cult like following of devotees now!!!
1.gif

As for quoting people on PS in posts, I have only been able to quote a single person. I can break up their post to quote several parts, but I have never been able to figure out how to quote multiple people in one post.

I am SO glad you explained this in depth. lol! I was watching it and thinking, "I get funny, I LIKE funny. WHY do I not find this as funny as they did??
33.gif

My son was watching it with me, and looked over at one point and said, Fred Savage is the best part". I had to agree....
lol.gif

Like I said though, I WAS really tired, I''m sure that didn''t help. I''ll watch it again.

you have to open up multiple windows and reply to the second person you are quoting, copy/cut/and past back to your first window, at least that's how i do it...for example: (but there might be an easier way...i have no idea)

MrsS, is that a Mac specific thing? I''m not sure how to even do that on my PC! But it could be my computer skills (ie. the lack thereof)!!
