MINE!: I am so very happy for you! I know the wedding did not occur under ideal circumstances, but the important part is that you got "the guy." Congratulations.
 
Hey everyone...

Just wanted to let you all know how my ''day'' went.

First of all... thank you soooo very much for this thread.. made me cry...

Well... Fi (now DH) picked me up about ummm 12:30. I put on a little ivory dress that had red roses and purple roses on it. Instead of getting married here in town we drove about 2 hours to the state capitol! He had ivory and red roses for me and a freind of mine that had been in class with me when DH was my professor! This was my very proud flamboyently gay friend!!! He is just awesome. Anyway he was our witness (man of honor he likes to be called!) We got married at the main courthouse by the most hilarious awesome Andy Griffith type of judge. When he did the "Do you this woman........... (insert vows) and under hs breath added to DH''s part (and give her all A''s) and on my part ... Turn on your papers on time...LOL... it was great!!. We had the other people in the courtroom crying too!!! It was wonderful!!

Afterward he drove me to this little B&B where he had rented the top floor, overlooking a private garden for us for two nights!! We then went out to eat with my friend. and afterward we went back to have my all time favorite Starbucks coffee.. Peppermint mocha!!!
Then we went back to the B&B and satyed up WAY TOOO late doing something that we usually do not do.. (....SHAME on yo for thinking it is THAT) We watch Cable TV in Bed!! (we do not have cable at home) NOw.. I have never stayed at a B&B and this bed was sooo wonderful and comfortable!!! YUMMY!!

The next morning we hada wonderfult ropical breakfast.. went to some used bookstore and to a few university campuses to look around (HE loves to do this) Then we visited the states capitol and decided that our goal would be to see EVERY state capitol in the US. Then we ate at a little MA and Pa place that smelled like batter fried fish and sourkraut!! IT was awesome. We then went back to the B&B and had a little nap.. (on that AWESOME bed) and watched some more TV! Then we went out to eat at this litle shee shee resturant for dinner. And took a walk around another campus ... (it was so nice) Then we went back to the B&B and he had to send a response email to one of his readers so that he could get a contract from Oxford for his book... and then we went to bed and watched IRON CHEF... gotta love cable.. LOL... slept in that AWESOME BED... and ate another yummy tropical breakfast this morning and drove the 2 hours home.

I admit it.. it was one if the best two days of my life... I love him so much!! He is so awesome and he loves me too.

Mine, it sounds like you had a perfect few days! Your DH really made it special--the wedding at the courthouse at the capitol sounds amazing (especially the personalized vows)--& the b&b...heaven!

MINE, I am so happy that your wedding and the following two days were so wonderful! Now you''ll have nothing but happy memories of it. You hubby sounds like a gem!
 
What a truly awesome wedding, Mine! I am so happy it turned out to be so special! (I mean, we knew the guy was going to make a great marriage partner, but who knew the wedding would be great, too?)

trying to get into the grove of being married now. I think since it happened so fast I was not prepared as well as I could have been. I wake up in the morning sometimes and think "ok, I''m married... what exactly is that I am supposed to do today as a wife..LOL.." Perhaps because I have only been a mother for so long..

Sorry, I''m late to chime in (I somehow missed your post about how your wedding and honeymoon days went.) It sounds like you had the best time ever and a very fitting start to a wonderful life together! Congrats once again (and I can''t get enough of those wedding rings, they are amazing with your e-ring!)
