Considering a JbEG Bella Halo with pink diamonds

Our 10 year anniversary is coming up next year and I am starting to think about options for my celebratory present. One idea I am currently considering is a JbEG Bella Halo with an old cut diamond (probably OEC 2.5-3.5ct) with a rose gold halo set with pink diamonds. I have seen multiple examples of rose gold halos but none set with pink diamonds.

Has anyone seen such a beast? Trying to work out if I am going to love it or if I just love it in my head...

There are many examples of pink diamonds used in rose gold halos. One of my favorite combinations! You can usually see lots of pink diamond halos on Diamonds by Lauren's website!!
Here is my pendant with a J colored diamond and fancy pink diamond halo in rose gold.

One other thing I'll mention is if you decide to go with pink diamonds for the halo- go with fancy pink, or even fancy intense pink if you can afford it. Fancy light pinks in halos hardly show any more color than just a regular colourless diamond once it's set in rose gold and IMO is not worth the added expense.

Thanks everyone! Lots of lovely examples of pink diamonds in rose gold!

I was specifically looking for a Bella with a pink diamond halo - I might have to contact JbEG and ask!

pinkjewel, I agree. I am only going to go pink if I can go really pink. Otherwise I might opt for yellow melee in yellow gold. Open to all ideas at the moment!

Goodness, that is gorgeous, PinkJewel!!! :appl: :appl: :appl:

I have seen the Bella halo in rose gold, and I think it would only be prettier with pink diamonds instead of white. I wouldn't do a rose gold halo without pink diamonds, personally.

Oh, sorry- I misunderstood your request. I don't remember seeing the Bella with pink diamonds in the rose gold halo- but I do think it would be beautiful! Would you need to supply the pink diamonds or do they have a source for them?

Oh- and thanks, DS!!!

Oh no worries. I think I should have been a bit more specific. I love those options you posted for me. Gets the mind thinking for sure!!

I am still thinking about ideas at this stage (still contemplating a 3 stone, or maybe a marquise set east west)... I know JbEG made a Gabbie with pink diamonds but they seem fairly faint light pink to me:

So I am guessing they could find them!

S, you absolutely need FIP/5P diamonds if you want them to look properly pink. They're ultra pricey and ultra difficult to get hold of these days (if you want Argyles, that is), but they're absolutely, totally worth the investment. Mine are set in an ultra-fine rose gold halo, but the colour would stand out even in whiter metals, I think.

Mr KC's credit card is certainly set for a work out

Those do look pretty light in the photos, although they call them fancy pink not fancy light pink which is what they look like. I think different suppliers of pink diamonds grade them slightly differently and some are more "soft" with their grading than others. My pendant were supposed to be fancy pink and they also look too pale to me. Since I actually liked how the pendant turned out I didn't pursue changing them out-but I would certainly have had them changed to a more intense pink if it was a ring. I don't know if their are suppliers in the US selling melee with the Argyle scale- their scale of grading is more specific and I think you better know the color you are getting.

Z, you are 1000% correct. There is no point in doing it if not to do it properly. I would just look at it and wish it were pinker. And that would annoy me.

Mr K is gradually coming on board with the plan, but his thought is to get something different (I.e. not a halo as my engagement ring and right hand ring already have halos, albeit very different ones) and my thought is that if I love them then I should get what I want and love.

All I know is that I am heavily leaning towards an antique stone and I think ultimately the style of ring will be determined by the stone we end up choosing. I love the Bella halo but in platinum it would look too similar in style to my Legacy style engagement ring. Either pink or yellow melee woild give it a very different look. And i like that idea a lot. I like the idea of a three stone with pear sides like KristyDarling's Leon Mege and as an anniversary gift, a three stone is quite apt (past, present and future). And I keep coming back to look at a Steven Kirsh east weat style ring that would be awesome as a RHR... But it might not be classic enough for me...

So much to think about!!

I vote for yellow gold with yellow diamond halo and a really low color OEC, at least OP, but ideally ST... would look divine.

That is usually when I start telling DH we are investing in our children. Something for them to have to remember me with etc etc. I know very selfless of me....or maybe I mean selfish?!?!?!

Regardless I love the idea of an antique diamond in the bella halo. I think you will need to be careful of color though. Some antique cushions have a tendancy to look brown or grey next to pink. Some people don't mind it while others, like me, it really bothers. My antique cushion which is an N/O doesn't do it but my OEC which is O/P looks VERY brown next to pink gold. Just an ugly combo to me I wish I had a picture to show you. Anyhow just things to think about.

Ha ha!! Well, he's in the doghouse at the moment over taking 7 years to build me a house so I'm pretty much guessing I can get what I want, no??

;)

Great advice on the colour - I was hoping for a higher colour stone to sit against the pink diamonds, but it all depends what we can find at the time. I wouldn't mind a slightly grey tint but slightly brown not so much. If I want brown I would opt for a fancy brown like this AVC: http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/9250/ and maybe make a feature out of it.

I agree with Dreamer D - if we fall in love with a lower coloured OEC then yellow diamonds might just be the way to go. I think it would look lovely either way!!
