I''ve been reading this thread to see how things were going. I was going to suggest chocolate chip cookies because 1) they''d be waaaayyyy easier and 2) everyone loves a good homemade chocolate chip cookie. If you''re using your grandmother''s recipe, that''s even better and really meaningful.

Monarch, yes, definitely much less stressful to have it at the RD vs. the wedding. Our cake trial certainly didn''t turn out too pretty. I just don''t think it''s meant as a wedding cake but so good as a regular cake. My favorite!

DKS, thanks for the ideas about dressing up the cookies. I''ll have to look around at the various options, although those cookies are darned good just the way they are! Thanks for the point about coupling the sugar cookie w/the choc. cookie. I never would''ve thought of that. I think that''s an even better reason for me to just stick w/the chocolate. I definitely did have a busy weekend but it was fun and productive!

Zoe, I think you''re right about going w/the chocolate. I am happier about the decision the more I think about it. I really appreciate having those small details to make the day so much more meaningful.

Mmmmm, now I am really in the mood for some cookies!!
