Oshin It''s pretty easy to get whatever you want to the top of a search engine with a certain search term if you have the time and/or the money. A year or so ago you could type in ''miserable failure'' into the search engine and it would take you to Bush''s website. Why? Because people would input the search term ''miserable failure'' and then end up clicking through to the white house website afterwards. So google''s algorithm eventually starts to ''think'' that when people type

''miserable failure'' what they REALLY want is GWB, and so then the top search that pops up ends up being GWB''s White House website. Voila.

But it isn''t hard to manipulate, so that is how these things happen.

Thanks Neat. Your explaination helps some. I appreciate it.
And good luck on the twins.

goggled our street number and street name here at home: OH, MY GOD, I''M A DATA MINING COMPANY!!!!!!

actually, it was the people who sold the house to the people we bought from...........but its the only info on the internet that comes up for this address so it must be true: we''re operating a data mining company.

movie zombie

Searching our address, the only thing that had our complete address was info about the property. No phone number is given.

I have read a bit of the threads... just haven''t replied to many. There have been some *interesting* posts by Republicans but nothing to come close to the McCain/Palin/Republican bashing that has been going on. But if you don''t like the topic or the poster, why don''t you just not say anything at all instead of attacking or ridiculing? Two wrongs don''t make a right.
If I am asked a legitimate question, I give a legitimate response. I have way too much going on in my life to take the time to link to all of the baseless accusations that have come from the same source, but you could search them easily and find out the answer to your question.

And I am not a McCain/Palin/Republican basher. Ask my husband.

If you go to google maps - click on ''get directions'' - starting at your address - for the destination type in Hell. You will get directions to Michigan.

I just did a search for Hell. It''s in Michigan. I always thought that Ohio was hell

Sssssh, because he''s secretly a Socialist. You weren''t supposed to find out. You won''t tell anyone will you

This is a legitimate question. It would be nice if you could give a legitimate answer instead of snarks.
Oshinbreez,

Yes it was a legitimate question, sorry that most of what you got was filled with Snarky replies.

Kaleigh,

Thanks. I''m pretty used to it though. I usually know who I''ll get the snarky replies from. If you notice, it''s usually the same people all the time.

Ok guys... alot of you are just plain being mean. The OP had a legitimate concern and many of you gave snide, sarcastic replies. If they had posted a question on DIAMONDS then I bet no one would be as rude as you are being now. It is perfectly ok to have concerns or questions over your newly elected president... and just because they are posted here, it doesn''t mean that the person is pitching a fit over McCain losing or that they are CONVINCED that Obama is a socialist/terrorist/whatever. I know some of you gave nice answers but this is directed at the ones who did not.
Thanks Oobiecoo.

And then there was that time you commented on her avatar....
Illegitimate responses can be just as annoying as illegitimate questions, IMO anyway.

I just had to google my own address because this thread made me curious.

Here''s what came up in the top five results:

- A map to our real home
- Northern Illinois Educational Representatives Association (weird, because I''m an educator but I''m not a part of NIERA)
- An international tour and travel company (I WISH this was my company)
- A US sailing directory (not a sailor)
- The Chicago Creative Directory (I''m creative, but not enough to be listed in a directory)

How strange. I''ve never googled my own address before, and I have no idea why it would yield these results.

Musey--I think your search result is quite apt.

Haha. It''s too funny. I think the list must be pretty old, because the person on there for my address doesn''t live in our building, but there are two recognizable names living here that aren''t on that list.

And no, I don''t consider myself one of them

Yes, I do have way too much going on. I actually don''t comment all that much - as my unscientific survey of these posts just confirmed, way less than most who debate on this thread. (P.S. ksinger - you should post more. You always have something wonderful to add.)

I comment on these posts because they offend me - the constant innuendo that Obama is a Muslim, not born in the USA, a Socialist, take your pick from any of the prior posts. If you have a problem with that, you can just keep commenting back on me . . . like you always do. Of course an illegitimate comment on an illegitimate response to an illegitimate question . . .

I''m have been very open in past threads about my dislike for Obama. However, I cannot recall anyone inferring, insinuating or implying that he is a Muslim. I also think most, if not all posters here thought the theories of his birthplace were mostly piffle. As for being a Socialist, I do believe he might have those leanings and it''s a legitimate concern of mine and many others.

But that''s really besides the point.

I guess I''m not sure why you are so offended when I can''t seem to find anything on these posts to back up your statement about the "constant innuendo that Obama is a Muslim and not born in the USA".

Bee - my quote wasn''t "constant innuendo that Obama is a Muslim and not born in the USA," as you quoted me. My quote was "constant innuendo that Obama is a Muslim, not born in the USA, a Socialist, take your pick from any of the prior posts." Perhaps I should have added etc. I''m referring to all prior posts that are based on innuendo and people trying to smear without the facts to back it up - youtube videos with no source, email campaigns, internet google stunts, the Messiah comments, etc. And there have been MANY prior posts. I think that you would be hard pressed to find a response from me criticizing someone who doesn''t like his policies, choice of cabinet, anything relevant really.

There have been plenty of posts insinuating that he is a Muslim. In fact, I remember a GREAT one that was so freaking (trust that I would love to use another word) offensive and disgusting that it was deleted.

Hi, everybody. I'm glad to see that everyone is still herself. Any news on neatfreak's twins? I know she was supposed to give birth on Friday and it is Sunday night. Is there a thread somewhere? Since she posted to this one it seems a propos to ask here! Thanks for the smiles in this thread.

Whoops! I wrote the last line before "turning the page". There weren't so many smiles on the second page. Sorry for that, guys. I like a little kidding. I don't go for the rough stuff. I don't think anyone should come out of Pricescope threads with black eyes or bloody noses ;-).
