Covid finally hit us.

Healing vibes to you & your wife. I’ve had it 3 times now (I work in a school so inevitable) & each time was very different to the last.

Hope you both feel better soon.

Not much new today.
Doctors reply was just copy paste cdc guidelines.

i hope you and wify are feeling better soon
i havnt heard of anyone with covid till xmas week and then people seem to be catching it all over
the tiredness was the worst part when we had it, or rather after we had had it
take care Carl

Feel better soon!

Are you and your wife feeling any better today @Karl_K? I believe you have to begin taking Paxlovid within the first 5 days of symptoms. That was what my doctor told me. I wasn’t able to get a televisit with my doctor until day 5. I was beginning to feel a little better at that point so I didn't take the Paxlovid. The tiredness lingered with Covid for a good 3 to 4 weeks when i had it.

There are a lot of people sick now in our area @Karl_K .
I had a doctors appointment this morning and had to walk past Urgent Care. It was packed with no place left for people to sit. I heard lots of coughing. Norovirus is also present. Tis the season.

Yes, I also agree that you need to start Paxlovid by day 5. I only know one person who took it (as he is 72) but he started feeling better almost right away. Not sure at what age it is prescribed.

Hi Karl, sending good wishes, hope you both feel better soon.

I hope you feel better soon! I had it in September..My husband got it worse than me and I’m immunocompromised. I hope you continue to have mild symptoms.

Doc office never got back to me about Paxlovid and wont be back in until past day 5.
I feel like im improving anyway.
Took the garbage out to the dumpster today.
Wifey is feeling a bit better too.

I'm glad y'all are feeling better. Do you have an urgent care place near you? I feel like I get better care there than my regular GP (and insurance dosen't care as long as its not the ER)

take it easy Karl, the tiredness is terrible
we all had covid at work back when the govt paid ones sick pay
they had to draft in personal from the other two shops
i had gone back to work after testing negative and being free of symptoms but was so tired
our lady owner (wife of head baker) suggested we all take all the time allowed to us and i was so greatful, even after that it took a good couple of weeks to not be so tired

Thats the stage I am at every muscle just feels tired.
Even some I didn't now I had.
The stuffed head is coming an going today.

I had it last November; symptoms were slight except for the fatigue which lasted a long time. At one point I felt as though I didn't have the energy to blink.

Glad you are both feeling better. If you feel the urge to do anything strenuous, take two aspirin and lie down until the urge goes away!
Just joking but there is research (UCLAhealth.org) showing that strenuous exercise may be linked to developing symptoms of long Covid.Don't lift anything heavier than a fork and you should be fine:>)

:(2
when i had covid i didnt have the energy to brush my teeth
gross i know
worse was i had the huge stash of covid groceries suggested in the NZ media, but we didnt loose our taste so meals were very uninspiring and felt like they used a lot of effort for very little yum

you will be feeling better soon
better but still tired
how is the wifie doing ?

She is doing a bit better still has the head cold like going on but not as bad.
She is having a hard time sleeping because of it.

poor thing :(2
i think i somewhat forgot how bad it was at the time but you will both be feeling better soon -just still tired for a while

I hope you and your wife are feeling much better now. If your wife is still having trouble sleeping, a nighttime liquid cold formula can work wonders.

Covid has been making the rounds in my community too - lots of folks at my church were hit throughout December (it’s an older population, and also more likely to get medical help when something goes wrong).

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

how you two doing today Karl ?

Rough day for sinuses.
kinda comes an goes like a bad head cold.
Gets worse in the evening
Tiredness some what less.

Unfortunately, this isn’t a bounce back quickly , speedy recovery type of illness. Even when you are having a good day, don’t give in to the temptation to over do it! Can’t stress that enough. Covid recovery really does take longer than common cold or other viruses of the past.

Do you have Mucinex or Sudafed? These may help but cross check with any other medications. Hope you are fully recovered soon!

Glad the trend is leaning better. I remember it was two steps forward and one step back for a while. Continued well wishes.

i remember my one workmae who had it like a year before the rest of us
she went on a canoing trip for her birthday up the river and one of the other partisioants knew he had covid and went anyway infecting all the others

anyway she had it way worse than us
but one day she was feeling better so thought she might do a bit of gardening
she only got as far as her back deck off her kitchen and was completly exhausted having to sit down to summon the energy to go back inside to bed
fast forward almost a year and by the saturday afternoon at work i was pretty sure i had it,
so i took home a french stick to make garlic bread :lol-2: -
the next day i didnt have the energy to even rip open the wrapping, let alone slice it and butter it and cook it !
lucky i was working that saturday with that same friend so she was still immune
turns out the rest of us had all got it from our lady boss who's husband had it
everyone had mild but exhausting cases except our poor boss who had a couple of rough days
we all staggered back to work together, the most tired bakery in Wanganui
lucky for the company the other two shops and the bakery had all already had it so they had to staff our shop for us for the week

we laugh about these things now
just rest up Karl, try to eat and drink plenty of liquids
take it easy
