So, after getting married this weekend I''ve been getting lots of gifts... things off my registry, things from other stores, money and then, my sister''s gift... she got me a book titled: "The Guide to Getting It On". Yup, my sister got me a sex book. My sister''s a bit unusual so I thought it odd but funny. My husband just looked at me with a face that basically said, ''I can''t believe I just married into this family...''

What are your crazy wedding gifts?

My MOH gave us "the Sensual Honeymoon" book or something like that. IT SUCKED, hahahaha. The things to do were so cheesy...

My other fav present is a nice throw blanket that has our names and wedding date embroidered on it, except its our middle names that neither of use!

My wife''s greant aunt lives in Florida and wasn''t able to make it up for our wedding in Indiana...but insisted on getting us a gift. She mailed a package to my wife''s g-ma and asked her to put the contents in a bag with tissue paper to make it look nice. We returned from our honeymoon and one of the first gifts we opened was from this great aunt. Probably the craziest wedding gift...EVER...

We pulled out two white pillow cases and thought, "hmm I don''t remember registering for pillow cases." We unfolded the pillow cases to reveal writing in several different colored fabric glues. Oddly shaped and colored hearts were drawn all over the pillow cases. Inside the bag was also a picture frame which I thought, "Wow we can put this somewhere." Once I looked in the frame I noticed a picture that seemed to be cut out of a color book with letters that read "Your Special day" stuck to the framed coloring page (that was not colored).

To make it better....on both homemade gifts her great aunt had put the date "May 10, 2007 - Your Special Day" ...our wedding was May 12, 2007 ...lol....we were almost rolling on the floor with laughter and then noticed....THE PILLOW CASES WERE STAINED!! So they were OBVIOUSLY used.

It was a funny gift that we love to bring out and share with our college friends that come over and we tell them how we''re going to make them something similar when they get married....but we do greatly appreciate the thought that her great aunt put into our gifts and we smile at her innocence. Maybe I''ll get a picture on here of them :)

(I know it may seem that I''m being rude about the gift, but at the time it was HALLARIOUS)

Congratulations Amanda Panda

Continuing on the book thread, dear wife got the "Cookie Sutra" as a bridal shower gift. Same idea except using Gingerbread men/women as the models. And yes we have used some of the recipes

Nobody bought us anything good in terms of those kinds of books...so we were at Barnes and Noble and got some book titles and ordered them off of amazon.com

One we got was like "sex every day, every way" Some of the positions require you to be like a double-jointed freak...but it''s amusing to look at haha

Well, not a wedding gift, but my FMIL just sent me a gift certificate to Nordstroms with a note that said "To celebrate your engagement and graduation (just got my master's) I wanted to send you a little something just for you. I bought it in the lingerie department, so you can start there" She loves to make my FI uncomfortable...but the present was so sweet of her!!!

Tickets to see DANGEROUS LIASONS. As in, all about deception and sex and cheating. That was interesting!

oops, wrong thread!

LOL The night we married we got a knock on the door with a delivery. We accepted it and of course looked into the box.... in it was a bottle of amaretto and another of sour... a *beachball*, some "toys" and various oils and The Joy of Sex LOL

But I still think the craziest gift for us was the gold plastic last supper. Picture one solid piece of molded/stamped plastic that included the frame and the figures from the last supper.... with the background being a mirror. yes, this was a gift and we aren''t even christian LOL

Wow, how *thoughtful* your guests were. I can''t wait to see what''s in store for us.

Cehra, that''s priceless.

Oh....it was so ugly and horrible! My great aunt & uncle gave us this bear made our of an old wedding dress. Complete with veil. It was just really odd and it smelled.

Craziest wedding gift I got was an ugly bracelet and necklace made of plastic beads? I don't know what it was made of but it surely wasn't crystals. It was really colorful and cheap looking. Something I'd never wear. Also, with that nice jewelry we also got a lame coupon. It was something like visit these 3 wineries, collect stamps, and get 10% off your stay at a hotel?? Something really lame. I couldn't believe I was getting that as a wedding gift!

My one crazy gift was a cross stitch from some family friend of my hubby''s that I never met and didn''t come to the wedding. The crazy part is I made my own ring pillow from a cross stitch pattern and changed the colors. This kind lady made us the exact same cross stitch I had used. It was a little freaky getting the same one. It is pretty though!
