I''d like to get your opinion!
I''m having a hard time deciding which one I should get between Criss cut diamond or Hearts and Allows diamond bands.

My husband and I went in a local jeweler to see the ring on Valentine''s Day and found Christopher Design''s 5 stone diamond band. It was very pretty and sparkle on my hand. Sits low on my finger, so I can picture wearing all the time. the price was around $5700 for 14ct gold and 1.25 tcw G,Si diamonds. If I go with platinum, it will be $7000.
I also love the design of White Flash''s Skye. I called them got some quote. it was $5646 for 1.606ctw F/G VS1/2 with platinum.
My husband likes to buy local and liked hearing "custom hand made". He said he never buy his watch through internet.
I like both of them, but I like an idea of saving $$ and get better quality diamonds.

If you own one of them or know about them, I''d like to hear about it.
Thanks.

Hi tealover and welcome!

The diamonds you mention are both very different types....I do know the Skye band and love it, I think it depends on your preferences and budget.

Your Husband isn''t alone in not liking the idea of buying online, but I can assure you that if you decided to purchase from WF or any of the other trusted vendors that it is completely safe and you would be in excellent hands.

Thanks Lorelei for your quick response.
I know is comes down to my preference.... but it is hard to make up my mind.
They are both great.
I''m very excited getting one of them!

You are most welcome!

It IS very exciting! If it was me, I would choose the Skye band personally as I adore that design, also if you want the sparkle factor it is possible the WF stones could edge out the Crisscut - not that I know much about CC except the basics but thats my guess. Here is a suggestion, if you have a Jareds or Hearts on Fire dealer near you, you could see what they have for their bands with Jareds Peerless brand or HoF, these diamonds will be of excellent cut quality like the WF stones so this might give you a better idea.

Hi tealover,

I own a Crisscut eternity band wich I love love love! Anytime we are out with my husband I''m getting
compliments on it. Wish my engagement ring was a Crisscut diamond.
Before we purchase this beautiful band I did my research visiting jewelry stores and comparing diamonds
with my own eye. I found that this was the only diamond when removed from the jewelers direct lite
(going outside or checking it in a darker surrounding in the store) was still sparkled didn''t loose the fire.
Hearts and arrows performed much worse. Also it was no comparison when look at them side by side.
The sales person explained to me that you can not compare it like apples to apples because Hearts and
Arrows diamond is a genetic diamond with 58 facets just like a regular round diamond compared to a
Crisscut diamond which has 121 facets. Also Crisscut is a little pricier because of that but to me it''s all
worth it specially when people can see and compliment my diamonds from cross the room!
For me online wasn''t an option because I like to juge with my own eye!

I hope that I was able to help good luck!!!!

I love crisscut diamonds. I put a project on the back burner since I cannot decide if I want one of those or a Daussi diamond. In my opinion you are looking at apples and oranges. It really is which do you like the look of better? I truly think the crisscut is a gorgeous stone in particularly the "cushion" and "asscher" shape. I really fell in love with them and think they would make for a fantastic band.

Truly though you have to go with what pleases your eye IMO on this one. I know what I would pick, but I am not a H&A lover at all, so it would make it super easy for me to pick

Welcome Anette!

A true h&a diamond is among the best cut diamonds available with top optical precision, performance and finish, unlike a ' generic' commerical cut quality round stone, however the sales lady was right saying that you cannot really compare h&a and CrissCut as they are completely different diamonds. Extra faceting actually does little to improve overall performance unless the overall proportions work in harmony, these are the main engines that drive the light return.

But it really comes down to personal taste once well cut examples of each type have been compared in person.

Hello Lorelei,

Thank you! It is great to be here and I''m learning a lot.
I strongly disagree with you on the faceting I think that the right faceting has everything to do with it
just as the proportion. Otherwise why would I see the stone more sparkling and lively than the other
under identical condition and grade?
About the performance of the two stone I have there brochures and CD''s gemological study
clearly showing that Crisscut has a better scintillation.
I agree on that on the end it will come down to a personal preference so judge it yourself
and compare them in person.
