I drive a 2001 Toyota Avalon & Hubbie drives a 2006 Toyota Tacoma P.U. but.... if money were no object, I''d be driving a Lexus RX 300/350 series......Just happy my DH doesn''t want to upgrade to a Ferrari or Porsche for our next big anniversary

Late 90''s BMW, I love my car and it is in great condition. I would rather have an older car and a big rock, HW Koko?

If money was no object and I had all the diamonds I wanted, I would probably like an E type Jag - a red one!

2002 Mazda Protege. If money was no object, I might get a Lexus SUV hybrid but I''m not into fancy cars because I''d rather have a nice house and big rock.

People kinda suck a lot of the time and if I had a nice car, I''d go mental. Someone hit my parked car in a parking lot at work and ripped up one whole side of the car from front tire to back tire and LEFT - no note, nothing. Grrr. Yesterday I WATCHED some jackass try to pull in the spot next to mine at the grocery store and hit my car. HIT my car right in front of me. I started yelling at him and he''s like, "sorry, I was in a rush." I was like, it''s freaking SAFEWAY, can you get a grip? See? Mad just thinking about it again, and I don''t have a fancy schmancy car. And that''s EXACTLY why I don''t want one.

If money was no object, I''d drive a Saab or a Volvo.

I''m not into super fancy cars.

Me either.

If money was no object, I''d still choose a Toyota Prius (I''m going to buy one in the next year). If the oil shortage was no more, I''d probably want something like a Volkswagen GTI. I want one anyway, but they don''t get the gas mileage I want.

There is another thread like this out there somewhere, I think DF started it? Big surprise!

I drive a 92 Toyota Corolla, nice and old but in great shape, the body and paint looks great, it's just an older car. Greg keeps it running smoothly with his awesome car skills. We plan to get a Mini Cooper this year but just haven't gotten around to it, and now my upgrade is taking precedence, big surprise there!
9.gif

Greg said... everyone is going to think your big new diamond is fake when they see you get out of that old beater car. I said I DON'T CARE...now if this doesn't underscore that I could care less about what others think and it's really all just about ME and being happy with my choices, I don't know what else does...hahaha.
2.gif

But yeah it'd be nice to get our new Mini this year! We just plan to keep it for a few years and do a lease since it's pretty cheap and it'll be fun to have a small zippy car that we can trade in in a few years for something more long-term practical...aka an SUV or similar.

In terms of what I'd get if money was absolutely NO object and I could have whatever my little heart desires...gosh that's a tough one. I like alot of the small convertibles but who knows what I'd really do. I also have always wanted an old mercedes SL convertible that is totally restored and painted the softest of baby blues...yumyum. Greg's stepmom got one last year and I was in a puddle of drool when we visited them. Greg would just want an endless stream of old cars he could restore, I know he'd love a big old Cadillac and he is coveting more large truck vehicles, thank god we don't have any space to store/house them or else I think we'd have an old car farm by now....
5.gif

now: 2002 Land Rover Freelander (dk green/bk cloth seats/gas guzzler)

maybe soon: used Honda CRV (thrifty!)-OR- pimped 2006 Toyota RAV4 (leather/AWD/Lexusy)

dream: 2007 Toyota FJCruiser (black cherry/pimped) -OR- Lexus RX400h (sweet hybrid SUV)

I love trucks & SUV''s ...so I''d have to go with a Hummer! I feel so guilty even typing it out loud...lol We have dirtbikes and I do a lot of furniture refinishing etc., so we really need to have something that can haul stuff!

As it is, I drive a big Dodge Ram with a Hemi that''s a year old...and I love it! It seats 6 adults comfortably, has a 6ft pick-up bed. It''s almost perfect, except for parking and at the pump!

One other thing! I need to get a bumper sticker that says, "Yes, this is my truck! No, I will not help you move!".

Honestly, if money were no object, I''d hire a chauffeur to drive my a** everywhere! I hate driving! Traffic annoys me and I hate looking for parking, so I''d rather someone just dropped me off at whatever entrance, lol!

Currently I drive a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer. It''s really nice, and a whole lot bigger than my old Corolla. Mara, I had been driving a ''99 for the last 7 years so I know what Greg means about people thinking your big old diamond is fake when they see you getting out of a banged up older car, ha ha! I loved my Corolla, though. In fact, I still haven''t sold it...I got it detailed and cleaned thoroughly and now it''s sitting in our garage waiting for a new home when we get around to selling it! I am actually very attached to it so I''m in no rush to get rid of it, I will admit.

LOL! Is it too late to change my answer?

I just traded my boring silver Subaru Forester for a bright red turbo Jetta!! I''m in love!
30.gif
I even got a car cover and a back seat hammock for the dog! It does show dirt dreadfully though.
7.gif

I drive a 99 Red Jetta, Hubby Drives a 02 Silver Jetta. Personally, I hate the new ones. If money were no object.. I would want an Audi...

Now- 1984 Lincoln Continental that my dad gave me. Commonly nicknamed Das Boot, rocketship or monster.

Dream- 1964 Corvette, 1958 Ford Fairlane convertible, 1928 Packard or an S Class Mercedes.

I inherited my father''s love of old, huge cars. Mine is perfect for the aggressive, speed-demon, intimidation driving of Boston.

Currently driving: a 2000 Ford Focus
If I could drive anything I wanted.... hmm, perhaps a BMW or Volkswagen. I''m a fan of the Pontiac Vibe too.

I''m with you Lorelei.....you can''t wear your car on your hand & admire it all day!! I hope to drive my Avalon into the ground, the goal being no car payment.....as far as cars go, I just crave dependability not "sparkle!!" This is fun, gives some insight into personalities......I think Mara has the same philosophy as me.... those Toyotas will go forever. I have a friend who owned a Corolla during a flood in New Orleans several yrs. ago. She said her car was the only one she saw driving through the water, she poked a hole into her floor with a screwdriver to drain the water from inside & it just kept on going!!
21.gif

Right on Koko, you have to get your priorities straight and diamonds are always top of my list!
3.gif
As long as a car goes, that''s fine by me - you won''t get an idiot in a car park scratching up your rock ( well, hopefully not
32.gif
) That is another reason why I would never buy a new car.

nytemist - my father also has a love of old, big cars! He happens to collect cars - so when I was 16, I was able to use the 66 Mustang convertible.

He had a white, 1964 Corvette I got to use for a while. That was fun!

Currently, I drive a 2003 Jaguar - and I am growing to dislike it more daily.

By June I plan to own a Prius, since I am sick of paying so much for gas. (living in Los Angeles, it only makes sense to have a hybrid if you do a lot of driving.)

Need I say more!! This baby and a 2000 Navigator.

vette 034.jpg

yep as much as i love a shiny beautiful car, my car just gets me from point A to B...while it'll be great to finally have power doors and windows and a CD player in the car, other than that it's just an added expense! also seriously i would have a conniption the minute my new car got a ding, every time a friend freaks out about that with their car i am SOO happy i could care less if someone dinged my car, i probably wouldn't even notice...!!

that is why i am all over the Mini idea, we can lease one for like $200 a month for 3 years and that seems fine to me. i wouldn't want to own one and $200 in the scheme of things for a new car is not a big deal at all. it's cute, zippy, fits my personality, relatively cheap, my clients will like it, and it gets me from point A to B!!

i have friends who pay $500-800 a month for their luxury cars and it just is sooo appalling to me! that is like $6k-10k a YEAR on a car? that'd be like a big new 1.5c diamond EVERY YEAR!!
31.gif
you can obviously see where my priorities are.

OK, I'll bite, but I was hoping Ann would chime in with her new Vette first. Currently, I drive a 2002 Porsche Carrera 4 cabriolet and a 2003 Lexus ES. As of tomorrow, I will substitute a 2005 Porsche Cayenne S SUV for the Lexus, if it's ready for pick up. Yes, my gas mileage will suffer (even more
20.gif
), but I need the cargo space and still want something fun to drive. I economize by buying year-old cars at substantial savings.

Dream car: Ferrari 360/430 Modena Spyder F1. A 2004 360 is available at the dealership where I got my C4 for a mere $205,000.
6.gif
It's tempting!
31.gif

ETA: Great! Ann posted while I was typing.

Ann - Nice corvette! That is such a cute picture. That''s how I feel about my car. hehe

I currently drive a 2001 BMW M3. As far as dream car goes... that''s tough because it changes from year to year. My M3 was my dream car 10 yrs ago. Right now I''m lusting after a ''73 Porsche 911 Carrera RS. Perhaps someday...

3.gif

I love my M3 because it gets me where I need to go (quickly), it has 4 seats so I can take passengers (well, ok.. small passengers

2.gif
) and it''s small so I can park it anywhere in the city but... and this is the most important part... I can take it to the race track and have have a ball with it! I''ve been racing for about 10 yrs (I have another car I race) but I can take my street car on the track and practice and just have fun! So it''s multi-purpose.
1.gif

I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee LTD that's getting turned in in a few months (yes, I lease and am proud of it LOL...I rather lease so I can have a new car for peace of mind..but the lease/buy thread is somewhere else LOL)...

Dream car is DEFINITELY a Porche Cayenne Turbo S. SWWEEEEETTTTT....But my real options are a Lexus SUV or Volvo SUV. Not too shabby....but if we are talking dream car, that $1200 per mo (I still wouldn't buy!) Porche is IT!!!
3.gif
Hubby's car is the 7 train
9.gif
...Being quasi city dwellers (outside of NYC in Queens)...he sold his car....there was no need for it and it would be a HUGE hassle to find parking....I already pay $150 per mo to park
20.gif
... So I don't feel guilty getting myself a nice ride!

You can get the Cayenne S without the turbo for under $1K/month. Not sure what one would do with the extra turbo horsepower (above the 340 in the S) except get into trouble.
28.gif

My current car is 99 C 230 Mercedes

My soon to be car is a 06'' BMW X3

My dream car would be a new Range Rover, [-O<

I too would rather have bigger diamonds and than a newer car. Hubby is getting me an upgrade this year on the ring, so this might be the only time in my life where I might have both and ain''t gonna complain \:D/

Don''t plant any seeds Gem LOL....Nah, that''s more than I want to pay....but sigh...she''s a beaut!

I drive a BMW Z3 in Atlanta Blue at the moment, and will have to get another more 'family friendly' car soon, due to the baby!

If money was no object.. a Ferrari F430 spider or Lamborghini Diablo VT 6.0.

i drive a 2001 Toyota Tacoma truck.

if money was no object...a $220K Bentley Arnage R.

Ok, I have to admit. I now take twice as long parking at the market. I just keep going around until I find the perfect spot, preferably between something small and a pole/curb.
9.gif

There's a lot to be said for upgrading from functional to fun. Hitting the airport at 11:45 pm when I had left from that airport at 7 am the same morning, the idea of the hour+ drive on a dark desolate highway seemed like torture. Until I remembered my brand new Jetta GLI in the parking lot.
10.gif
Oh that car is fun to drive. Although it ought to come standard with a radar detector. And I want one of those 'fast' creatures that the gti's have!
31.gif

But if I had unlimited amounts of money, I'd get a classic bugatti T57 SC just to look at and polish!
5.gif

ETA: Truthfully, if I could spend anything I wanted to, I'd still get the GLI... only with heated leather seats! Guess I'm pretty lucky that's all I really had to do without!

Oooh! We''re car twins, down to the color! I plan on driving mine until I start having children, which won''t be for a while.

And I guess my car is actually my dream car. Although, if money were no object, I might trade it in for the largest engine size they offer. (Right now I like my higher gas mileage.)

I love the Mini Cooper for a more family friendly car, but BF doesn''t like them.
