I have a 1992 Honda Accord, it''s horribly banged up, no a/c and I''ll drive it until it dies. The plan this year seems to be for me to get the Saturn L100 my husband is driving and he will get a used Toyota Matrix. Then save up again and get a newer car for me in 2008. The Matrix Looks like a cute car. If money were no object I would get the Mazda 6, I rented one and it was fabulous to drive! I also really, really like the Mazda 3. From everything I have read, it is a fun car to drive. I would rather have a fun less expensive car and more jewels, than a huge car payment. Currently our cars are paid off and I really enjoy having that extra cash every month.
Now: 2002 PT Cruiser in the purple color. Cute, but awful car. Really.
This year: Selling the PT and getting ___? A topic of hot debate in our family. I was going to get a Honda Accord Hybrid, but have changed my mind and now either want a Honda Accord EX V6 or an Acura TL.
Dream car? Don''t know. I''m a naturally pokey driver so there''s not much point in a sports car. I really object to SUVs so those are out . . . I happen to have the CR auto issue in front of me (my bible) and I don''t really "dream" of having a particular car.
As for my husband, his aspirations are so low he gravitates to cars like the Honda Fit and the Toyota Yaris.
Because I am a busy mom and also sometimes am delivering alot of flowers for my business, I drive an Excursion 2005. It is no big deal and I handle it fine, but I would rather drive a BMW 5 series...just for me.
For now, I dream cuz I need to haul kids, groceries and flowers around so this is the car for me...
I have a 2004 convertible 325 BMW, which I bought last December. It''s white with tan interior. I dreamed of owning one for about 5 minutes and then bought it
I traded in my 2000VW black cabrio. That car was fun and cute, but the quality was poor. If I didn''t have to keep taking it back into the shop for something else, i''d probably still have it.
Right now I drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. It''s paid for and is a nice, reliable vehicle for us so we are going to drive it til it dies
If money were no object, I''d probably choose the BMW X5.
But the more practical side of me for two kids says I''d need to get a Chevy Tahoe with third row seating or shudder at the thought a Honda Odessey mini van. The mini van will probably be the next vehicle I drive. I used to say, "I''ll NEVER drive a mini van...they scream soccer mom." However they have loads of space and are so practical for toting kids that I''ve changed my tune
When I''m older and kids are gone, my husband and I say we''ll be driving a luxury vehicle. Something of a cadillac (that''s him) or Lexus for me. That''s realistic long term goals. By that time, I won''t want to be driving an SUV
Right now I drive a ''95 Honda Civic and DH drive a ''01 BMW 323i. I want to get a mid-size SUV and DH wants a Porsche (Carrera I think), so I told him we should get the Porsche SUV but he wasn''t so thrilled about it. Haha. I actually am eyeing the Acura MDX because it has the most passenger space out of all mid-size SUV and I like the shape of it - not too square. My Dream car if money is no object would be a Ferrari, but that''s really far-fetched in reality.
1998 Acura Integra in excellent shape runs like a champ and sips gas...love it! FI just got an 06 Infinity G35 that thing HAULS SERIOUS BUTT!
...but dream car is and always will be 550 Porsche Spider (similar to the one James Dean crashed in)
1967 356 B will do nicely as well as a modern Carrera Porsche....there is no substitute
others to consider Ferrari Maranello...new astins kick butt, 67 corvette, 65 mustang, gullwing mercedes forgot the year...oh geez the list goes on I LOVE cars I could SERIOUSLY have a Jay Leno car collection $$$ and space not being an issue LOL.
Currently I drive a 2003 Hyundai Elantra GT. It''s small, sporty and you can''t beat the MPG. We also have a 2006 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab (I think that''s what they call the 4 door pick-up) 4x4 and it sucks gas like a teenager does a slurpy at 7-11.
Not sure what I want yet. Would love to have my old car back, it was a 1964 Chevy II Nova with a 324 in it and it would haul a!! let me tell you.
I think I may look for another Hot Rod.
Hey we have a ''94 Acura Integra and we love it too. It really looks bad . . . the clearcoat is peeling off and the interior is trashed. But DH wouldn''t dream of getting rid of it. He loves that car. That''s why I''m thinking TL for our next car.
We have a ''98 two-door Neon. I think they just announced they''re not making Neons any more. The part of Arlington County (VA) we live in doesn''t allow us to have more than one car, so we share. If I could have any car, I probably would only choose a Passat or a Toyota Avalon. I''m not into cars, luckily for our parking situation
I''ve got a Cooper S, modified. Husband has an Audi S4, super-modded.
Dream cars? Depends on if it''s for road or track. I prefer something with horsepower and handling for the street - maybe something like the Porsche Cayman or something along those lines (with an RS4 as the grocery hauler).
Don''t let him catch you spelling Infiniti like that!
Us owners can be a picky, sensitive bunch.
1990 Q45 -- Undergoing surgery to install new factory engine
1992 Q45 -- Current daily driver
1995 Dakota -- Reliable utility
1985 Firebird -- Someone please just take this thing off my hands before I donate it!
The Q45 was one of my dream cars as a teenager. I was in high school when it debuted. Not a beauty queen, but it makes up for it in technology and performance. I could finally afford one after college; by then the early ones had depreciated 80% or so. They are a lot of car for the money, but repairs aren''t cheap, unless you have the tools and enjoy the work.
Dream car -- It''s a long list. I agree with rfath; the answer depends. For a daily driver, I''d probably want a plush brand new Infiniti or Lexus. For a weekend cruiser, I''d want something sporty. Very close to buying an old NSX coupe. Money no object, I''d love a Murcielago or an Atom. The Caterham would be a blast too.
