Hi ! this is my first post!

i checked out this stone today at the jeweler and loved it - the stone had great fire/brilliance/sparkle. i took the stone outside and it was bright/white, no dark spots -i couldn''t check fire because there was no sun (rainy and cloudy). my bf is set on buying a stone from a local B&R that his family has gone to for years so online purchasing is not an option, and out of the cushions we saw, this was the winner (also, i only want a squarish one so thats limits options). i wanted to run the numbers by the cushion experts to see if there are any concerns here (esp. with the depth/table):

Cushion Brilliant
carats: 2.23
8.16x7.89x4.89
color: H
clarity: VVS2 (overkill i know, but what can you do)
depth: 62%
table: 65% (is this a problem that its bigger than depth?? what could this do?)
girdle: thin to medium, faceted
cutlet: none
polish: v.good
symmetry: v.good
flour: faint

anyway to determine crown angle from these specs? i have a GIA report number that i ran through the "checker" but these are the only specs i got-

like i said, the stone was beautiful at the store, me and bf both loved it (even better than the rounds we saw) but just wanted thoughts - attached is a HORRIBLE picture i took on my blackberry but i thought it was better than nothing?

really appreciate the feedback!!

The photo is way too fuzzy to see. Typically, I would like to see depth in the mid to high 60s and the table in the high 50s - however, all this is personal preference. The cut advisor "checker' does not apply to fancy shapes.

Hi smiley

Its the crown height you want, not the crown angle - angle is mainly for rounds, crown height is more useful for fancy shapes. The vendor would need to run a Sarin or Helium scan to get this info, I would anticipate the crown height is lowish due to the info we have - however I can't tell for sure, 10% or above is preferred. If you like the cushion and have checked it out away from any bright store lights, and have compared with many others then thats as good a reason as any to consider it for purchase.

I can't see enough from the photo to comment I am afraid.

Table being greater than the depth can cause a lower crown height and sometimes interfere with fire production, sometimes you can see a little more glare from larger tables - but - if you like the stone it needn't be a deal breaker. Just be sure to look at some others of different types and smaller tables to be sure of what you like best.

You could make the sale final on an independant appraiser inspecting the stone if you wanted an impartial professional opinion.
