Hey all,

So I understand that a cushion will face up "smaller" than a RB (as will many other fancy cuts). My question is, about what carat weight would I look for to match the apparent size of, say, a 1ct RB? Does anyone have pics or hand shots of one of each to compare? I am specifically looking into getting a GOG August Vintage.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Don''t look at carat weight, look at length and width. Or calculate surface area. Cushion faceup size varies with depth in rounds not as much.

Yeah, just aim for one around 6.5mm square and it will look as big or slightly bigger than a 1ct RB.

Ditto

I agree with all the above statements but if you really want a ct weight ... I would guess around 1.4 ct for a well cut modern cushion.

Thanks everyone! That was helpful. I think I have a much better idea of what to look for now.
