custom band??

Long time listener..first time caller.

I think that I would just like my e-ring to be a double row of brilliant diamonds maybe up to about 4 carats or so in an eternity ring and have a plain platinum band for the wedding ring.
I know that people get custom e-rings done but what about just that? Would it be cheaper or more expensive?

Who does the best custom work? I think I know exactly what I want....

As a rule, custom work is more expensive than otherwise similar stock pieces. As another rule, the best craftsmen are rarely the cheapest.

The final price will also depend on the details of your design and things like how much metal is involved, how you want things set, how many and what grades of stones you want used etc. Most jewelers offer free estimates, perhaps it would benefit you to pick out a jeweler you count as trustworthy and have them quote the job for you. It doesn't seem out of the question that you can find a stock item like that but it'll take some definite luck, especially if your finger size is in any way outside the 'normal'.
