Custom Daniel M Setting for my little square emerald cut

I had the little 0.8 square emerald cut diamond from way back when James Allen was Dirt Cheap Diamonds. It was in an absolute hideous setting that I have no idea why I ever chose. Recently I commissioned Daniel M to make me a new setting for it. I don’t have it yet but yesterday I got the pictures from him. I’m pleased with how it turned out. I’ve always admired the Tiffany Legacy setting so that was the inspiration for this ring.

Wow, what a difference a change of setting makes! Now it’s really a show stopper!
 
I really love it and is that a little ruby on the side of the setting? So pretty!
 
Your new setting is so pretty! I actually like your previous setting! I agree that the tab prongs are too big! It also looked rectangular because of them..I’m having my asscher reset east/west with tab prongs! :lol:
 
wow ahhhhmazing! that is so much better! I love the red side stones, are they rubies or garnet?

It’s slightly off square but I think the old setting did accentuate that. Well I must have liked the old setting at one point since I chose it. Can’t wait to see your reset!
 
The new setting is definitely a winner! Isn't it amazing the difference a new setting can make to a stone, bit like us getting a fantastic new hairstyle! I can't wait to see hand shots! :appl:

Your reset is beautiful! I like your previous setting too but agree that the prongs overwhelmed it a bit.

I think so too! I almost bought a preloved legacy with a 0.36 stone in it. And then I thought why not spend a heck of a lot less and use this diamond that gets no love by having a new setting made for it. Daniel M is always so well priced and I’ve always been so pleased with the quality of the pieces I’ve purchased from him that I instantly thought of contacting him. I will be sure to post pictures when it arrives!
