Finally done! Custom 0.49 ct, 4-integrated-prongs (not a tension fit but looks like it), color H clarity VS1 round cut with 2 teensy sapphires. I think my favorite part is how you can see the whole diamond from the side. I needed flush top (nothing sticking up) and don't like the look of prongs so this was perfect for me. Thanks for sharing it with me! It's the diamond he proposed with in a setting we designed together.

some more pics. It was inside and doesn''t show it very well, but I was so excited to finally get the engagement ring that I took them anyway...

Very unique! I love the look of this ring.

It was inside, so doesn''t show the sparkle, but I''m so excited that the ring is done I took the pics anyway. I love how there are some other smaller carat (mine''s about 1/2 carat) rings on this site...

I love the design and it means your wedding band will sit snugly alongside it. Very pretty diamond too!

May I ask who brought this design to life?

Lovely! It looks beautiful.

Lovely!!

What a unique ring dev! I love that it''ll allow a flush-fit with any wedding band you choose, and it looks like the top is very smooth so you won''t get it snagged on anything. Great job on the design!

Very cool design, and beautiful diamond!

Sure, I appreciate your interest!! We saw a similar setting at our local small jewelry store where the diamond was purchased (Goodman's Jewelers in Madison, WI) and I really liked the style (flush, integrated prongs, see the whole diamond in profile, not tension fit...) but the manufacturer required at least a carat diamond among other issues - the side stones were rubies, etc. We basically said 'like that, but with sapphires and the exact 1/2 carat diamond he proposed with, and no other diamonds around the band, and a flat high polish band'. They sent the job to Malakan Diamond Co, who produced the ring. I never knew the love one could have for a diamond ring until this one came into my life! And now I do things like haunt this site...

Thanks to everyone who took the time to look at it. I have really enjoyed looking at your pieces and deeply appreciate the kind words which have totally made my week!!

I have been wondering: How can you tell whether it''s a nice diamond or not? Below are the stats the jeweler gave him when he bought it. Now that I''m more diamond curious, I''m wondering: why does it seem so sparkly and nice to me? is it ''ideal cut''? could it have a fish eye? I KNOW, I should just enjoy it in good health and stop obsessing...! But it''s my only(and likely last) diamond ring...

Very interesting design.

Cool design! have you seen the twisp by Sholdt? It is very similar but without the sapph sides. I like the punch of color.

Hey- you''re right! This is probably the one that my jeweler carried that I based the design from. I found a pic of it on this site. I am so amazed at the level of knowledge on this forum. Thanks for pointing this out to me- now I''ll enjoy looking at a few of those if I can find pics around the web... It also helps me to feel that the design is a secure one. It''s so unique that I''ve been worried that perhaps the prongs won''t hold (although my jeweler assured me it looks as strong or stronger than separate-prong designs). Thanks!
