I called pearlmans, they are going to e-mail me some more pictures later today.

What kind of setting(s) would you recommend with a cushion. Does a halo still work well?
They sell Beverly k. I would mention you're from Pricescope and what their best price could be on this halo setting in rose gold (or whatever gold you decide)

She definitely prefers rose gold. This setting could definitely work if it comes in rose.

They could get any setting in rose gold.

Pearlman's got back to me on that sapphire. Looks like it's out for a viewing and their are a lot of other interested. Probably won't be available.

So I didn't update this thread, but A few weeks ago I went ahead and ordered a custom ring from the seller I was speaking too since I was running out of time and options. We are going to vacation in a few days where I plan on proposing.

The ring just came this morning.

I was a bit shocked how different the stone appears in different lighting.

Indoors, low natural light:

Indoors, flash:

Outdoors, noon sunlight:

Inside it is a pinkish champagne color, though at quick glance almost colorless. With more light it increases in peachy pink color.

In general my impression is that the ring is very well made. The stone and diamonds are very sparkly. I think my girlfriend will love it.

Would it be a good idea to get it appraised right away? Since I am going on vacation and traveling with the ring it would probably be smart to get insurance before the trip?

I have a GIA and AIGS certs stating it is unheard natural sapphire and certs for the gold and diamonds in the setting.

Beautiful ring!! If you are planning on taking it on a trip, I would definitely recommend getting it appraised and insured ASAP

Does pricescope have any recommended insurers for jewelry? I would like to go with a dedicated jewelry policy rather than adding it onto an existing home policy.

I decided to go with Jewelers Mutual for insurance after doing my own search here on PriceScope.

I also went to Jeff Ira at Metro Jewelry Appraisers who is also recommended here on PriceScope for the appraisal. Jeff was very knowledgable and accommodating. It was my first experience with jewelry appraisal, but the whole process was smooth and I would certainly go back to him for another and recommend him to anyone in the Boston area.

As far as my seller, Prang, SundariGems on etsy, I would definitely recommend her shop. She isn't a recommend vendor here, but she delivered exactly what she promised and was a pleasure to work with during every phase of my custom e-ring purchase. Don't hesitate because she is located in Thailand. She has her customers best interests in mind and is a talented jewelry designer.

One more picture of the ring I received, taken by Jeff Ira, it's a bit better than what I previously took:
