Hi All! I recently purchased a 2.5 ct I SI1 RB with the help of all you PSer''s and now I am trying to find the perfect setting for it. I have a local jeweler working on a custom setting and it has been a lot longer process than I had thought it would be. I don''t mind the wait as long as I feel that it is worth it. The first design he sent me was not at all what I thought I had explained to him. I have been giving him picutres all along and specifically showing what I liked in each. I think we are close to a design I like but I am not sure if I love it, of course it is hard to tell with the CAD photos. So I have been questioning if this is the right thing and I thought "When in doubt about diamonds take it to Pricescope!''. So here are some questions:
Should I get a few more custom quotes? He has spent a lot of time on this and I don''t know if it would be rude to have other jewelers work on a custom quote as well.
I have heard you all mention other designers that do custom work, like Leon Mege. Will they work on a cutom piece without a face to face meeting, I can''t make a trip to NY? And would a $5,000 budget be to low for some of these designers? Also, will these designers use diamonds that I already have? Besides my center stone I want to incorporate 5 other diamonds that I have from an anniversary ring into the design.
I have attached a picture of the lastest design I received and I would love to know if you know of any other designers that you would think would be able to make this as well and your opinions. I want a single ring, not a Ering and band so I like it I just don''t want to buy blindly without getting all the information I can.
Thanks for all your advise!
