Mara, I like that commercial w/the bikini. But a bikini!! I haven''t even thought about wearing one in years. I''m still waiting to feel better about wearing my one piece! I''m getting there though. I''m going to FL w/my bf, my son and his daughter in June and i''m trying so very hard to not to cringe at the idea of myself in a bathing suit while there.

I really hope that all this fantastic cardio will pay off by then! I do need to add those leg exercises daily b/c that is a definite problem area for me.
Anyway, enough of that!
I worked out this morning so that''s my 4th day. Yay!! One more day to go for the week. I''m hoping the scale shows me something nice this weekend but i''m feeling ok about my week regardless. I''m going to try and be happy about my progress no matter what. This is my 3rd week of doing mornings and working out 5 days/wk so i''m pretty happy about that. I also ran yesterday, well did interval running on the treadmill--3min. of running, 5 min. of walking for 30 min. total. I am feeling it in my back so I probably won''t do it often but it was a nice change and felt like an accomplishment.
Have a good Thursday everyone.

Amy you''re doing awesome with your workouts! I''m deeply envious, lol! My husband left for Vegas yesterday and I was trying to spend as much time as possible with him before he left, so this week I haven''t been to the gym at all. Boo for me! I have done really well with my eating though, so I can''t complain. And Saturday I''ll be walking 6 miles with my training group, so I''m not too concerned about the lack of exercise so far this week.

I''m afraid to try on any of my bathing suits, one pieces or two pieces, for another month or so! I use jeans for my motivation at the moment--I have two pair from 2 years ago that I would still love to wear but they haven''t fit for a looong time. I keep them on the storage bench in our bedroom, but I probably should hang them on the door just to be on the safe side, ya know, so I don''t FORGET that they don''t fit, lol!

My pants are big

I''ve been finally able to see some changes and now it''s also showing in my clothes

I did cardio on the elliptical for 35 minutes last night at a bit lower resistence because my legs were beginning to feel fatigued from the previous two sessions. this morning my right calf muscle is soooo tight. i''ve been stretching it out all morning. ouch!

I brought my gym clothes into work today, although i''d rather take the day off from working out. however, tomorrow is st. patrick''s day and the only exercise i''ll be getting is lifting a pint glass

plus, we have friends coming into town for the weekend. So, i want to get one last workout in before the break. i''m thinking that i might just walk my miles to give these tired legs a break...but then i get competitive. we''ll see how it goes.

amy: Congrats on getting in another week of 5. that is impressive!!!

I''m glad that everyone is doing well, too! And Lulu, it''s awesome that you can see the change!

To answer somebody''s question from yesterday''s thread: I have an extra vertebrae in my back, which puts me at an increased risk of back problems, but we''re not sure of exactly what caused the herniation.

I''m also going to be useless until Sunday. I''m visiting a grad school, got to my hotel, and the pool''s closed for repairs. No swimming. Oh well.

The flights here were pretty painful, so I decided to lay on my back in my hotel bed and check PS. I suppose that I need to drag my butt out of here and actually see stuff though!

yay lulu..!! congrats..

gals i think hanging jeans or the 1 piece or that small miniskirt or whatever on the closet door is just as effective as the 2 piece bikini! sometimes bikinis just aren't flattering regardless of how in shape you are.

did i already offer up my fun snack tip of 1% chocolate milk in the afternoons? it tastes smooth and chocolatey but it's low in cal, fat and has some protein and not too bad on carbs either. i drink about 1/2 a cup and sometimes with a banana and i feel good until dinner. i even had just a banana and choco milk for lunch on saturday and i was fine til 7pm for dinner!!

i bought a skirt from white house black market a few weeks ago, their cutie stretch denim skirt with a raw edge hem with a tiny bit of a flounce to it, hits right under the knee...it was tighter when i bought it but it looked cute so i figured why not. its been in a bag in my closet since it's sooo not close to being warm right now. well i tried it on yesterday and it fit that little bit better to make it just right, and looked awesome, i'm so happy. so i guess things are going well overall. i can't wait for real spring!!! tired of this california rain/sun/gloom combo we have incessantly been having!

today i plan to do 2m somewhere outside as long as it doesn't rain AGAIN, breakfast was oat kashi (high on fiber, good for body!) and coffee and 1% milk (which amazingly tastes just like 2% but less fat and other stuff); lunch will be a subway turkey sandwich and dinner will be chicken and salad or something similar. last nite we had sushi and it was SOO darn good.

Oh my gosh, I''m suffering from serious food coma. Today was our quarterly potluck at work and I ate way too much. I need a nap, seriously.

This morning I went to the gym by myself - did some weights and loads of stretches. It''s almost spring break here and the campus is empty. So was the gym. There were only two people in the entire weight room - myself and another girl. It was pretty cool.

I feel like my head is going to hit the keyboard any minute, so I''ll end here. Good workouts everyone. Virginia - don''t worry, you''ll be back soon. I WISH I could have diamonds on the brain. :)

Damn the potlucks! I hate those--we just had one last week Stermag, I know how it is!

Question: do you guys take vitamins? If so, what kind? I''ve been taking One a Day Weight Smart, but I didn''t know if there was anything better out there I should be aware of...

Monarch and Lulu, I appreciate the kind words! Now, if only my body would listen and shape up!!
Monarch, I *buy* vitamins but not so good and taking them. I was taking Centrum for awhile but heard they weren''t great so recently, I bought a whole foods brand. I''d like to say they give work for me but I really don''t take them enough to give an honest report. Speaking of which, I brought them to work so I''d actually take them! I also take a Chromium pill b/c i''ve been told that helps in weight loss. I used to do wheatgrass shots which really gave me energy but they are harsh on my stomach so I stopped. I can honestly say that when I was taking vitamins and exercising consistently, I felt much better. This was at a time when I was studying for the bar and I felt like I had energy to constantly keep studying. Now, i''m not doing nearly as much but can''t seem to feel awake. Last night and the night before, I couldn''t even stay awake past 10! I''m feeling old these days.

Lulu and Mara, congrats on your clothes feeling looser! That is the best motivator for me.

Virginia and Monarch, don''t worry about not working out right now. Sometimes you need a break! Monarch, good luck w/your 6miles this weekend!
Speaking of mind on the diamonds, I just spent about an hr on the GOG site reading their tutorial and cutting and pasting to make my own.

So very helpful. I am attempting to understanding the cut concept more but it''s a tough one for me. Now, one of these days soon, i''ll email my bf my wonderful creation of materials. I''m sure he''ll love that!

I also just did a quick search for the diamond that I would like and was a little shocked by the price. I hope my bf has more $ than I assume or I will be making some different choices.

Blenheim, do you take anything for the plane ride? Have you tried any anti-inflammatories? I would assume so given the other stuff you''ve done but I know they helped me a little when the pain wasn''t too intense.
