These are 2 OECs I purchased from eBay. They were in settings that didn't do the stones alot of justice. The .65ct was set in all yellow gold, giving it a tint of colour despite being a H, and the .77ct was in a light, frail 6 prong setting, with big, boofy prongs.

Daniel and Caren from DanielM on Etsy have been beyond wonderful, their customer service is exquisite, and the prices are unbeatable! My next project will be having my .50ct each diamond studs reset, probably into 8 prong baskets like Yssies, which I've wanted to do for ages (I'm still MEGA jealous of you and those studs, girl, yours are my inspiration!!  )

Each ring is in 18ct yellow gold with white gold baskets. The 8 prong one is holding the .77ct, and the .65ct is in the 6 prong setting. I'm keeping the .77ct for myself, and the .65ct is for mum for Christmas.
I'll post pics when I get them, they're currently in the mail. Enjoy! :appl:

This wa the .65ct in its original setting... it's got charm, but I didn't loooove it, plus I wanted white gold prongs. It deserves a lovely setting as it's such a beautiful stone.

And, not a great pic, but this is the .77ct in its original setting. Aside from being totally filthy (bad me :knockout: ) I really disliked the prongs, the stone has so much character and life, I had to re-home it! Also it felt really light and flimsy.

Oh I was JUST looking at your pics in the Jewellery thread - glad to see more pics!!

They really are lovely  I like how they sort-of-match, too ::)
If she likes classic solitaires she's going to be thrilled!

ETA: brilliant choice for the studs  I'm still loving mine! Dan & Caren did a really wonderful job (all 8 prongs are evenly spaced, nicely set in the prongs) Just FYI mine have shorter posts, dunno if that's something you'd want to specify..

Do it!! And can't wait to see

They look fab!!!

Looking forward to more pictures! :wavey:

Gorgeous! How sweet of you to give one to your mom. Congrats on a beautiful reset! :appl:

Gorgeous  i just went and checked out his store, beautiful designs...

Yssie, I see I'm not the only one blaming you for getting 8-prongs.

DandiAndi, I loooove your new rings!

Yssie, what a coincidence...so was I!

Dandi you have a secret admirer in me. I ad  re your collection! So much beautiful yellow gold! Your post of bands and eternity inspired the look Im going for with my bands.

Both your resets are very pretty!

Those are gorgeous!!!! Love DanielM's work and those OECs are great!

It's a disease and it's catching, folks

They look great. I like how low they are.

Those came out so great. I just love 8 prong settings. And what a nice gift to give your mother.

They're lovely!! Your mom is going to be thrilled!!! You're such a great daughter!! They look awesome!!!

Agreed that the DanielM fever is catching!! Makes me so happy to see them getting so much traffic from PS after they made my bridesmaids necklaces last year. They really are lovely, talented people.

ETA: What a sweet, sweet gift for your mother too! I'm sure she will LOVE the gift!

susimoo, SparklyOEC, Blackpaw, diamondrnglover and Andelain, thankyou so much for your lovely replies!! Hugs to you all! :cheeky: :cheeky:

Yssie, I hadn't really even thought of that! I kind of like that mum and I will be ring twins of sorts! We're peas in a pod in every other respect, so it fits! :loopy: Oh, and THANKYOU for posting about your earrings, they sounds even more amazing IRL!

ZestfullyBling, you are SUCH a doll! I was just admiring your amazing 5 stone in its thread and saw that you're going for plain bands to sandwich it, my FAVOURITE look, yay! That will look AWESOME! And thankyou so much for the lovely comments, gorgeous lady! xx
Thanks so much lovely Lauren! Haven't 'seen' you about of late, hope you are keeping well! :wavey:

Thanks oddoneout! I was wanting them as low as possible while still being able to sit them flush with a band, I know that will be important to mum. Thanks again sweetheart!

Gothgrrl, I do too! I've always wanted something in an 8 prong setting... originally Dan was going to set these identically as per my request, and just at the last minute I asked him to change mine to an 8 prong, I'm so glad I did! He and Caren were terribly patient with me! Thankyou for your wonderful comments xoxo
Luckyeshe, she's an awesome mum, she deserves it! Thankyou for your gorgeous post! :wavey:

Clairitek, I saw those necklaces Daniel did for your bridesmaids, they are amazing! Your girls must have been thrilled with your gorgeous gifts! Thanks, lovely!

They look great!!!!!!!

These are absolutely gorgeous! Would you mind if I asked what seller you used to purchase your OECs on Ebay? I'm trying to find reputable Ebay diamond sellers, and these are just what I'm looking for! Thanks! :-)

These are so pretty! I love OECs.

Thanks so much princessplease and Kittybean! Lovely of you ladies to chime in! :wavey:

Hi Lily85! I got these from separate vendors, one is Empire26 and the other is valleyofjewels. I've also had great experiences with justselldiamonds_04, they have some lovely stuff! Thankyou for your kind comments!

They're lovely! They came out beautifully-love those stones.

Gorgeous homes for your stones! Both look great! Your mom is going to love her ring. You are so thoughtful to give her such a gift.

Nicely done, both of them! I can't decide which one I like more, the 6 prong or the 8 prong. They're both gorgeous! I'd be tempted to stack them :naughty: but I'm sure your mom will love her Xmas gift!

coati, thankyou love! They really are pretty stones, and the last setting just really detracted from that!

Thanks tigian!! She's a wonderful mum and never treats herself to anything unless it's for everyone else too! So we hope this knocks her socks off!

panda, I'm really loving the stacking idea!! :Up_to_something: Thanks for your lovely feedback!

Well I received the rings today and am beyond thrilled, they just look amazing. The workmanship is beautiful, and the rings exceeded my expectations, especially for the fantastic price!

They look fabulous on your finger Dandi!!

Your mum is a very lucky woman

Stackage... it was bound to happen :naughty:

I had 2 of the plain 2mm bands in the pics, and recently mum was admiring them, she adores slender bands... her wedding ring is very wide and has become uncomfortable, and she doesn't want to tamper with it and get it resized. Not to mention her tastes have really changed, so I gave her one to wear in place of her wedding ring, which she wears on her pinky finger. I think the thin band and OEC look good together! Dad is amused by this whole process

*Disclaimer*
Dad sees wedding/engagement rings as a visible symbol of his and mum's marriage, regardless of whether or not she wears her original rings or new ones, so he is just happy fo her to be wearing something she loves!

No feelings have been disregarded in the making of this ring

And that third stack is perfect :lickout:

They are so beautiful! Congratulations!

It sounds like you are extremely pleased with working with DM. I am considering him to make a ring for me also. Did DanielM ask you sign a waiver form to release liability should damage to the stones occur during setting? I was a little surprised by it because none of my other jewelers had asked me that. How did you feel about signing it?
