Ok, so just out of curiosity, certainly not because I am in the market currently, I called Oscar Heyman!
Fascinating experience.
I used their contact number on their website.
A nice gentleman answered the phone and I asked him for prices for wedding bands, alternating diamonds and colored stones, A. emerald, diamond half band platinum, C. emerald diamond full band, G. sapphire ruby diamond full band, and ruby, diamond half band under alternating diamonds and colored stones, wedding bands front page.
He told me that they don't deal with the public!
In fact, the first question he asked me is if I was an individual or a retailer.
He told me to call Neiman Marcus in Honolulu, and then, wait for it... they would call Oscar Heyman for current pricing for the wedding bands.
I told the gentleman that his company is legendary and his company's work is exquisite.
He thanked me "for the nice compliment."
He thanked me again for the nice compliment before we said good bye.
It was a thoroughly pleasant experience, but apparently buying an Oscar Heyman piece involves a relatively complex set of steps. I can't call Neiman Marcus and ask for the prices. I have to call them, give them my request for information, wait for them to contact Oscar Heyman, and then get back to me!
I will do it. I just want to get a feel for the prices, especially for the ruby, diamond channel set half band.
I'm betting on them getting back to me and saying something wild like $20,000 so that I can cross them off my "list of things that are ever going to happen!"
I suspect the knife will be sharp and it won't hurt a bit!
LOL!
I'll follow up and let you know what the prices are, assuming all these steps go off without a hitch.
Just for the fun of it!
They have a history of contracting with the most famous jewelry houses and dealing with the masses just isn't their thing, although the gentleman was super-nice.
