It was the first thing I noticed today.
I have admired his SAGE advice over the years and was thrilled to have the opportunity to learn about his family business. If you get time, he has a PDF essay that takes you back in time to how his grandfather started the business.
It reads like a script from a movie with great photo stills that aid in narration. It is also a snapshot of how wonderful turn of the century America was, and still is. How so many people yearned to start a new life in this great land, and that they did anything and everything to get here. (That never changes). Boats still capsize, lives put at risk just for the chance. Feeling a bit patriotic today, yea, after reading how Grandfather Atlas made it home, you betcha.
Hard work, dedication, and determination in a 12 year old boy...with no support or education, well, his success is so thrilling to read. (I know several 13 year old boys today...and well I should just say times have changed!) He stood out from a sea of average...and his legacy still does.
I read how character and integrity left an indelible mark in the industry. You can read Old Miners resume and accolades and know he has continued in the same vain.
I think that Grandfather Atlas would be proud in David's success. His dedication to the PS community has been respected greatly. Old Miner is known by his many threads filled with sage advice.
Hope you take the time to read it too...I bet no matter what nation is your home, you too will be thrilled to experience it.
