So incredibly sad for those boys to grow up not knowing their mother.

I agree that only a soul-less individual could do such a thing as steal from a dying woman. Karma has it''s way of working, I suppose.

Very tragic loss.

Very, very sad story. I think our PS family is close-knit enough that we would probably realize quickly if it were someone we "knew." So glad Miranda and Giada have both shown up and let us know it wasn''t them, or their rings!

He said that he does not have the rings, but all of a sudden he has a family emergency and must move??? Whatever...I hope they find him and that the family gets the rings back.

I hope they catch the suspect and prosecute him to the fullest extent...what a horrible thing to take from someone who has died, and under such sad circumstances.

The dude who stole them turned himself in!!!He was a social worker at the hospital!!! And the guy gave them back to the dad!!

It was just on CNN.

That makes me happy!!!

Oh good!

Hmmm. I read that they were found at a pawn shop ... maybe the guy just told the cops where he sold them???? Anyway: at least those kids will have the rings in the future. Sad story overall though.

Its totally possible Deco. I was in the midst of making cupcakes, so I wasn''t watching totally, and thought I heard that, but I''m not sure.

I wonder how much he got for that ring in a pawn shop. I''m sure it was pennies compared to what its worth...

OMG!!!Only $650?!?!?!

I can''t believe that her rings are only worth 6k either....That engagement ring did NOT look like a 6k ring. Then again, we have no specs, but still...

What kind of person would steal from the deceased? Disgusting!

I''m glad they got it back - what little consolation it is.

Oh thank God they got the rings back

That man should be ashamed of himself...tsk, tsk

What a slime ball. Hope it was worth ruining his career over, and ending up in jail. I am sure this happens more in this type of situation than we want to admit. Think of nursing homes where they routinely steal from older patients, hoping they will not notice.

She was a beautiful woman and it is such a tragedy. To go off on day to work and not come home, it is dreadful. Those lovely little boys without a mom. The youngest will not recall her at all, and I hope the older one can keep some of her memories as he gets older.

That is so awful it''s beyond words

I''m really happy that the family was able to get the rings back though, I''m sure they mean so much to the husband, and eventually the kids.

Blech, what a horrible person the guy who stole the rings is. I''m glad the family got the rings back, but what a terrible thing to have to go through on top of losing her.

I wonder how long they were married? If the rings were made maybe 15 years ago, I guess I can see how they were valued at what they paid for them back then...but it still seems like a low value. Maybe they hadn''t updated their insurance for a long time?

You guys know that you should get your rings re-appraised every 3-5 years? I never thought about that until I worked for a jeweler last fall. I guess people figure it is one of those things that, once it''s done, it''s done, they just pay for their insurance every year or whatever and don''t think about the fact that it costs more every few years to replace jewelry.

What a scum bag

but in reality this happens more then we probably like to think.

I am glad that they got the rings back and those poor boys will have a little memento of their mother, poor little tykes
