I hope you all recognize this quote.

Years ago we had a TV series "Designing Women". Dixie Carter played a strong modern woman and that line was my MOST FAVORITE of her's. Second to when she sang Ava Maria. She was the epitome of grace and southern belle charm on screen and off.

I so admired her femininity and strength.

I will always smile when I think of Julia Sugarbaker. Hope you will too! Here is the UTUBE: "THE NIGHT THE LIGHTS WENT OUT IN GEORGE AH!"

I can't tell you how many times I have DREAMED my self doing that TO ALL THE MARJORIES in my life.

Or what about her telling off the men at the bar?

She passed away Yesterday...Thanks for the laughs Dixie!

She was a great actress, and the Julia Sugarbaker character is unforgettable.

I loved her and the character Julia Sugarbaker. I was shocked when I read she had passed.

This made me really sad when I heard it this morning. I''ve always liked Dixie Carter, and I''ve admired her marriage to her husband Hal Holbrook.

Thanks for posting that link, CasaBlanca. I''d forgotten what a brilliant show Designing Women was!

Oh my gosh, I am so sad to hear that she has passed! I loved her on Designing Women!!

I always loved her so much.

Add me to the list of Dixie Carter and Julia Sugarbaker fans. Loved the show-there were so many great lines in there. I''m sorry to hear that she is gone. Thanks for the memories.

I always liked her too :)

Sorry to hear this, I always liked her, a great actress and a classy lady...and that scene is one of the most awesome in sitcom history!

I loved her, in real life and her character on Designing Women. She represented a strong southern woman, one
with wit and charm. RIP

I was just reminded of one of my favorite lines from the show. The scene was a dinner party where the petite character with the blonde, curly hair was seated next to a woman who was not a southerner. The blonde said, in her drawl, "So, where are you from", to which the uppity woman replied, very stiffy, "I''m from where we don''t end our sentences with prepositions." The Designing Women character said, very sweetly, "Oh, I see. Well then, where are you from, bitch".

It reminded me of so many of my southern belle friends who are so sweet and gentle on the outside but tough as nails inside. Still makes me smile!

So sad.

She was such a wonderful woman and I loved watching her in Designing Women. Beautiful, strong, confident, educated, and so much more...

One of a kind woman playing a one of a kind character.

Thanks for posting the news.
